Paradoxically Kawhi is very underrated in this because he’s so obviously valuable. All the maneuvering the Clippers did to get him makes the thought of him being traded so unlikely that people don’t really think of his value.

I don’t think anyone left has the potential to be a #1 option on a championship team the way Kawhi has been and still can be for the next few years. If you’re talking future 1st team all NBA appearances between Kawhi and the remaining field, it’s not crazy to pick Kawhi (maybe top 5 player in the NBA is a better barometer because Kawhi is obviously at a more stacked position competing with LeBron and Giannis). If for some reason he became available, I think a team like the Jazz would have to think hard about trading Mitchell and whatever draft compensation it took to get Kawhi and become the odds-on title favorite, even if it meant only getting him as a short-term rental.

So that’s my vote, and I’d nominate LaMelo.

Yeah Kawhi should have been known the top 10. Obviously he won't be traded, but this is all hypothetical anyway and he would have very strong trad value. When he win the championship with the Raptors he was rh e best player in the league. A lot of the guys ahead of him in this ranking will never sniff that accomplishment.
