David Nwaba to Utah
Houston trades: David Nwaba
Utah trades: 2021 GSW 2nd, 2025 UTA 2nd, cash (= to minimum salary for Houston to sign someone)
Why Houston does it: get some future value for a guy on a one year minimum contract, save a bit of money.
Why Utah does it: get one of the best perimeter defenders in the league (and one of my favorite 9th/10th men) to throw into games for 12-18 minutes.

Sure. Nwaba has been great and deserves to be on a better team

Really like the little target for Utah. Houston should take the little bit of value to let him go to a better team.

Re: Smol: David Nwaba to Utah
The value isn’t bad and the context of both teams makes sense for this
That being said a part of me is hoping we keep him and sign him to a 3 year deal in the off season. He’s a legit player, really good on D, tons of hustle, very athletic, and even with his 3ball not falling at all this season he’s still efficient enough at the rim to make up for it. That being said couldn’t be mad at moving him for a bit of value.

Before clicking on the thread I thought this was an official deal broken by a reporter called "Smol" and loved the concept for both. So I'm a fan of this deal.

Yep I thought this was somebody I hadn’t heard of breaking this. Or it was a play on Shams somehow.

Title edited to...not cause confusion. Glad people like it, I think it makes some sense. I agree that I could see Houston trying to resign him longer term, too. He's a nice player.

Re: David Nwaba to Utah
I'd love to resign him, but given the likely rebuild we're headed for and his age, probably best to trade him for a package like this. Deal!

Re: David Nwaba to Utah
I really want to keep nwaba and I really don’t want to send a player I like to utah...but this is the type of package that makes sense. Wish we could get higher seconds from someone, but sellers can’t be choosers

I wouldn't hate that deal either, but Brown is a few years younger and could fit into the rebuild if Houston can retain him. Would rather deal Nwaba.sip wrote:As a jazz fan I prefer Sterling Brown to Nwaba.

Re: David Nwaba to Utah
Nwaba would be a nice pickup for the Jazz. He has some toughness. On good nights, he looks like a young Wes Matthews.
Jazz could also take a look at House and Kurucs.
