It’s a really small change-of-scenery type of move. I think it’s fine for both teams, but I don’t see this as an impact move at all. Hopefully Diallo proves me wrong.

Weaver likes his guys, obviously. Worked out okay for Grant, let's see what happens with Diallo!

Guess Detroit is willing to give a contract to Diallo so I'm happy for him.

Svi is a RFA as well. Not sure why Detroit has to include the pick. I'd think they should be getting one here. Probably the reputation of Weaver already established - in any trade talk ask for a second, he's sure to give it.

Diallo was playing pretty well too. Guessing okc didn't want to pay him, but OK.

I have no strong feelings, but good luck to Diallo. Felt like he really improved so a little bummed he got traded but don't think he was necessarily a long term rotation guy. Good luck to him.

I didn’t think Diallo was going to get resigned so I’m glad OKC got something for him. Still in asset collection mode. Remarkable tbh.

SVI a FA this off-season as well. He has a puny cap hold though, potentially somebody else Presti will rehab a bit and then flip. Svi showed better last season and wasn't getting consistent playing time with Detroit this year.

Detroit seem to be making moves early.

Blake and now this.

Sekou Doumbouya is now the longest tenured Piston. And only remaining Piston that Weaver inherited. That's wild.

(Deividas Sirvydis was drafted by previous regime, but was signed by Weaver, though likely to honor promise made by Stefanski)

Just when I thought “we’ll probably see Ellington moved and that’s it”.

We are going to draft so many players and we need roster spots and playing time for those guys that getting rid of ''meh'' prospects like Diallo is fine. I really like the kid but I think Presti made the right call not to pay him and get a 2nd instead.

Just saw apparently this is a swap of the longest tenured player on each roster which is kinda crazy.

If Weaver trades Doumbouya before the TDL, the longest tenured Piston will be Killian Hayes (or whichever of the 2020 rookie class signed first).

Didn't know we had any left this decade.

Seems fine for both. Weaver clearly sees something in Diallo and Presti gets another minor asset. And they could use some shooting so Svi probably even plays for them.

Aside from the RFA situation, what's the rub with Diallo? On paper he seems like a worthwhile project with his size and athleticism. Plus he's put up some nice stats for stretches this year. He's only 22 and was viewed as raw coming out of college. He should have some legit upside still, right? What am I missing?

OKC are addicted to picks. They have a problem, it’s like Heroin to them.

 And if not both teams have the same longest tenured, OKC's would be their 2019 draftee (Bazley).

Both are pretty crazy. Two years ago these teams had Griffin, Drummond, George, and Westbrook. Now neither has any of them, OKC has none who have even played with either (not sure Detroit).
