I do not care for this trade for the Bucks.

(At quick glance, this also gets the Bucks out of the tax.)
EDIT -- my glance was too quick

It gets them down, but not out.

This is great value for Houston. If I am reading this right they get to move from the early 30's to 24-25 range and pushes the UP pick further down the road.

So that's a benefit that I missed but I still don't like. Augustin has been decent enough and he's signed for a few years which for a team with as little flexibility as the Bucks strikes me as a good thing. The first round swap this year is a little much for Tucker for my taste especially since you're not just sending back useless expirings.
Then we get to the pick change. I'm not sure if the Bucks realize how risky this is. You've made it through most of this year with Giannis healthy so there will be no catastrophic risk of this year's pick being prime. But next year? Whole new season that you're praying he stays healthy. I mean you're already praying Giannis stays healthy but this would just be such a kick in the you know what.

Tucker-Giannis is a legit playoff frontcourt

It does not. We're about 5.9 million into the tax right now. With Craig out. We clear about 3 million. What this does do is gives Milwaukee enough to nab buyout candidates. Something they weren't in a position to do having carried 14 players all season long while being under the hard cap by 400k or so.

We're going to waste Giannis because we hired a **** Fed Ex driver to be GM.

Augustin has been legitimately awful, has a NG'd third year, and no this doesn't get us out of the tax.

Edit: I've come around on it a bit. The pick swap hopefully for the Bucks isn't huge, but its something of value for Houston, assuming the Bucks get a backup PG its interesting. Don't mind it for either and would switch votes from Houston to both I think later.

Win/Win deal.
People will see PJ play like a dog again and will feel stupid for talking **** about this deal.
Augustin is a 2 year contract too.
Tucker/Giannis from court is NASTY.

Oof. So I take it you're not a fan of the trade?

I could see Augustin potentially being flipped again. I think the value pick-wise would be fine for MIL if the filler was a useless expiring, but I think they may miss Augustin. I also don't know what value to assign DJ Wilson in the deal.
All in all meh sure for MIL.

The swap is deplorable and makes my blood boil. Just more reckless use of FRPs that we saw this summer.

Has Augustin really been that bad? I only watched a couple games and he seemed like a serviceable backup
