GSW trade Wiggins for a TPE

Warriors kept Oubre through the trade deadline even with offers and I suspect it's possible they plan to keep Oubre over Wiggins for the cost difference saves them $100m next year alone.
What does it cost to trade 2 season of Wiggins at $30m to a team with cap space to give GSW a TPE? SA, NYK, DET, OKC could all do it.

Toronto could probably take Wiggins if they dump Boucher for picks somewhere else. They would want Wiseman or the MIN 1st though.
Wiseman
Siakam
OG
Wiggins
Fred
That's not too bad for Toronto. But why would GState want to clear space for?

Good luck with that, Wiggins is a slightly above average player with max contract for 2 years, no one in their right mind would pay the Minny pick to get rid of him, OTOH also I'm not sure GSW 1st pick is enough.
OKC took Horford contract for a late 1st, but Horford is a better player on less money and they gave expiring contracts, not TPE.

I would do take Wiggins for the MIN FRP. But, largely it depends on what pick we get this year. If we can’t get into the top 3, I’d do it. Just to get the premium asset.
But, if we do get into the top 3 picks, I’d hesitate.

If I’m Detroit, I would do it for the wolves pick.
Other then money, why would the warriors be so desperate to move him?

I don't like Wiggins at all but OKC might take him for Horford and ask for a #1 from GSW, not the minn pick.

Edit:
2021 GSW Pick, top three protected. If it does not convey, 2022 first top 5 protected and 2024 top 10 protected.
I think taking on Wiggins is worth more than one middling first. With Klay and Curry back next season, GSW should at least be a playoff team.

I am not eager for this conversation, which will turn into how integral Wiggins actually is to GS title hopes.
But the GS pick is currently 13. I would do Wiggins+13 for Horford+Kenrich Williams

Looking at this I could see one first. The GSW 1st with top three protection.

Wiggins + Wiseman
FOR
Horford + ________
OKC has plenty of picks to make this work or even someone like Dort could be interesting for Warriors.

There’s a ton of cap space and no good free agents. I think one team would see value in Wiggins versus paying slightly less over more years for a similar talent.

I see Detroit absorbing Wiggins for MIin 1st. Even the Spurs may easily decide to do the same.

Wait, what offers for Oubre?
Do we have any details on these offers for Oubre?

This conversation is, at best, wildly premature.

I don't see a reason. First, Wiggins is just a better player than Oubre and a better fit with Curry/Klay. Second, the price would be something like Wolves' 4-6th pick for a team with 30+ mils caproom for the next two years. I don't see Warriors paying that price tag. Third, Oubre needs to be resigned, and he will probably get 15-20 mils. That will minimize the tax saving rather substantially. Fourth, Warriors are already approaching Oubre to take a bench role next year if he is resigned.
Tax saving is nice and all, and I see Warriors going that route once their core is no longer competitive. But for the next couple years, I expect them to pay the significant luxury tax. Once the tax becomes a little factor, I don't see Warriors choosing Oubre/TPE over Wiggins/Wolves pick.

Except for the Danny Green rumor (which would've been GSW jumping into a Lowry -> PHI trade), I haven't seen any details come out, but supposedly they were all in that same vein (Oubre <-> worse wing + 2nd(s)). GSW ended up not being interested in Danny Green or any such deals. Not sure if that's because they might really want to pivot to Oubre as next season's starting SF and trade Wiggins (which is a valid strategy) or if they really want to try and sell Oubre on the 6th man thing (which is too risky to bank on). If the latter, then they really should've flipped Oubre for 2nd(s) + Prince or anyone like that with an extra year on their contract, so that player could be used as expiring salary to facilitate trades in the offseason. GSW could've almost certainly made such a move, as -- in the case of Prince, for instance -- CLE would have, basically for free, simultaneously gotten better and gotten bailed out of a bad contract.
But let's say they are pivoting to Oubre as starting SF and will look to move Wiggins. I don't think turning Wiggins into a TPE makes sense because you'd need use a major asset to dump him and then another major asset to trade someone very good into that spot, which dilutes the value of the assets. For instance, imagine you do Wiggins + MIN pick -> TPE, then WAS makes Beal available and you try to do Wiseman + other picks for Beal into the TPE. If WAS is trading Beal then they probably wouldn't mind being saddled with Wiggins if it meant getting the MIN pick, so now GSW's offer is less competitive because they can't offer that.

I was a fan of something like this prior to the deadline, except I wanted George Hill to be involved too. So much for Hill, but I'd still be on board for Horford. If Wiseman is not traded separately, then Horford would be an excellent mentor to him, and GSW would get the most out of old-man Horford by not playing him the kind of killer minutes his contract seems to imply.
One reason I was high on doing something like this at the deadline is because Wiseman will be borderline unplayable in the post-season this year (I mean, he'll play, but GSW will be eaten alive, so they'll need to win the other minutes), so Horford is someone competent (and better than Looney) who you can put out there when you're REALLY trying to win. Wiseman will still probably be getting taking advantage of in next season's playoffs too though, so Horford would continue to be useful.

I think attaching value to move Wiggins for a TPE, which might not even be big enough for the player they want, so they can re-sign Oubre and start him at SF would be all kinds of stupid. He wasn't an attractive trade asset at his current number on the last year of the deal.

I think it's all smoke regarding oubre. I dont think there was a market for him.
Replacing him with poole wouldnt have been a big downgrade, some might call it an improvement.
