He was rumored to be about to sign with the Bucks when the Thunder waived him, but then the Bucks signed Teague and I haven’t seen anything else about him since

The Cavs could surely use him but I suspect the answer rhymes with rank.

I thought the Hawks would look at him if Lou retired. Lou is playing though. I still like him but another guard would have to be cut like Goodwin.
I am not sure Rivers would want such a limited role.

The Jazz should that way they wouldn't have to worry about him lighting them up in the PO.
He's shooting 19- 28 10- 14 from 3 against them.

I think other teams are waiting to see who else becomes available. Austin’s always been really ok other than when he played for his dad. Which it seems odd that he didn’t sign with Philadelphia before this season or since the Thunder cut him.
He’ll eventually land somewhere, but he’s really not that much of a talent.
Although you do have to figure that Charlotte is mad for taking on Wanamaker, when guys like Austin are becoming available.

I think as chrbal points out -- he's JAG and I think his personality is largely offputting. So a lot of teams don't see him as an upgrade worth the hassle. Like would he be better than Trey Burke until Redick is ready to play? Probably. But not enough to cut the terrific chemistry guy Boban or one of the rookies they hope will develop for him to play 8 minutes a night for 2 weeks or whatever.
What I'm curious about is will the Lakers do the right thing and set Marc Gasol free in time for him to latch on somewhere?

And he’s a defensive player.

The answer for Rivers or Gasol is ego.

I'd take him in Charlotte. He would get a lot of playing time the rest of the season and use that to get a payday. Hayward is out 4 weeks minimum, LaMelo probably the same. We have no idea how long Monk's going to be out with his latest injury.
Our entire list of healthy rotation caliber players who can play 1-3 is Terry Rozier and Devonte' Graham. That accounts for maybe 65-70 minute a game out of 144 total backcourt minutes. The rest is coming from a combination of Brad Wanamaker, the Martin twins, and possibly Nate Darling or Grant Riller... Rivers would be a welcome addition to soak up minutes.

Teams like the Celtics Bucks and Lakers could all really benefit from having him. I can see it happening soon.

Lakers probably take him if no better PG or wing pops up.

If Beverley misses another week, I'd love him on a ten day, but I'm sure he wants a full year deal, in which case, I'm honestly shocked the Lakers haven't snagged him, assuming that the prorated salary doesn't put them over the hard cap

I take it teams are waiting to see who else gets bought out.

Rivers is a very average player who seems to think he’s a superstar. I would imagine he’s not very popular with other players, although I have no proof of that. It’s possible that players are blackballing him.

Probably holding out for either a situation with guaranteed minutes or a position on a championship contender, neither of which have presented themselves.

Maybe NBA teams aren’t fooled by the percentages since they’re based on massive outlier performances

Average?
That's very flattering, he's terrible.

Austin Rivers has signed either vet minimum, or barely above vet minimum deals for 3 years straight (all on 1 year deals, or 1 year and non guaranteed years). There hasn’t been a rush for his services for years now. He might get some interest simply because pickings are slim mid season like this, but he doesn’t have a ton of bargaining power, either.

Teams are probably skeptical about his willingness to accept a reduced role...
