The Brooklyn Nets have seen multiple injuries, just after the April 9th playoff roster deadline. First, we found out that our 3rd string PG Chris Chiozza, signed to a 2-way contract, suffered a season-ending broken middle finger injury on his shooting hand. Second, future HoFer and newly crowned starting C LaMarcus Aldridge announced a career-ending heart arrhythmia.
LMA's retirement opens a roster spot, and we could sign a FA or a waived / bought out player. We could also sign a different 2-way guy, should we choose to cut Chris.
My question for you all is this: is there any medical exemption at this point in the season, to allow a player signed at this point to be eligible for the playoffs? Please cite previous similar cases if you know any, and/or provide specific CBA links. Thanks!

Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

ANY player who was not under contract with another team by that day (or was on a 10 day contract at that time) is playoff eligible with a team if they sign at any point afterward. No medical exemption needed.
