GSW-MEM Wiseman in Memphis (no wigs)

Revised trade
GSW gets Anderson, Tillman, Bane, GSW24FRP
GSW can turn Wiseman into some young pieces that are already in win-now mode and fit their needs. Most likely scenario for Minny pick is 6-7, which probably means GSW select a backup SF (Barnes). Anderson, Tillman and Bane would surround Barnes (or JTA) and Poole to round out the bench for the dubs. Wings handle playmaking and guards are dead eye shooters to play in to GSW's style. This builds a deep bench to contend next season.
Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Green, Looney -- Poole, Bane, MINFRP (Barnes), Anderson, Tillman -- GSWFRP (Butler), Mulder, JTA, Paschall, Vet min
MEM gets Wiseman, Lee
Wiseman is one of the best ever prospects from Tennessee, he is close to a home town kid for Memphis. He would also fit well with JJJ and Ja as a young 3 that can grow together.
Ja, Allen, Brooks, JJJ, Wiseman -- Jones, Melton, Lee, Clarke, Valanciunas
Initial trade
GSW gets Melton, Tillman, Clarke
GSW can turn Wiseman into some young pieces that are already in win-now mode and for their needs. Melton, Tillman and Clarke would provide a big boost to the bench and all 3 could get time as starters. Most likely scenario for Minny pick is 6-7, which probably means GSW select a backup SF (Barnes).
Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Green, Looney -- Melton, Poole, Barnes, Clarke, Tillman
MEM gets Wiseman, Paschall
Wiseman is one of the best ever prospects from Tennessee, he is close to a home town kid for Memphis. He would also fit well with JJJ and Ja as a young 3 that can grow together. Paschall offers some bench scoring.
Ja, Bane, Anderson, JJJ, Wiseman -- Jones, Allen, Brooks, Paschall, Valanciunas

Yeah, I’ll take a chance on Wiseman’s development over Memphis’ secondary bench pieces, thanks

GS isn't going to move either Wiseman and or that Minny pick in moves like this until they feel like they've exhausted other options and that's probably not going to be this summer.

Yeah. Giving up Wiseman and not even getting a starter out of it would be a pretty extraordinary sell-low at this point. And that’s glossing over the fact that we’re tossing in Paschall too.
Even a win-now team doesn’t give up guys with Wiseman’s potential for bench players.

Those are pretty good and cost controlled bench players so I don't want to over correct the other way either. If the Warriors starters perform well enough next season, locking in good players at 6-8 in the rotation may be worth it.
It's just not a first option.

All 3 of those guys are better than Barnes when he was a starter for GSW. Plus GSW was known for having a few very good bench players over their title runs.
I wouldn't worry too much about them being bench vs starter. All 3 of these players are strong role players and Melton+Tillman still have potential to improve. Tillman could be a starting C for GSW next season.

Memphis needs to consolidate all the depth we have in a proven player, which Wiseman is not.

Wiseman doesn't have much trade value right now, but that is not a reason to trade him for these guys. I might be willing to go with #17 for Clarke or something, but selling extremely low on Wiseman doesn't seem... wise; man.

It's not really selling low as Wiseman is getting benefit of a top pick still, it's fair value for Wiseman but I could understand if they want to look for a better player for Wiseman than a combination of players 4 to 7.

These guys don't have top pick value. Clarke has regressed. Tillman is a big "?", and Melton looks like an emerging young combo guard (like what we're finding in Poole). That's not the makings of a package for a top pick. This is the package you get for a top pick who missed training camp due to covid, had an up and down rookie campaign and then tore his meniscus.

Tillman is like the ideal C for GSW. Low center of gravity player that can defend like a bull on big C's and can switch on perimeter and set nice screens. Melton can also play with Curry or lead a bench.
Clarke doesn't have to be in the deal, could go with someone else. Bane?

Memphis has some bench players I'd like, Bane, even Clarke, but those are much different trades. This just isn't close for me.

Yeah, I suppose it’s possible but there’s a lot of things that need to happen between now and then before a deal like this makes sense.
If Klay comes back strong and the Warriors are in contention and Wiseman still looks like he’s a ways away from contributing by the deadline, a deal like this might be on the table, but certainly not during the offseason

Not even close value. A bunch of relatively unproven bench guys (I might like Clarke a bit more than that, but not much of a fit with Dray), no thank you.

I think there is a decent chance that one, if not all, of the guys leaving Memphis end up better than Wiseman. But I just have very little faith in James. I really dont like his feel for the game.

I would be concerned, too. That`s why Memphis is high on Tillman - he is a Draymond-type defense playmaker.
But Wiseman, like our JJJ, is still a kid. It is unfair, and even unreasonable, to accuse them of immaturity.

The value is off in the abstract because of Wiseman having been the #2 pick but this makes the Warriors indisputably better. This is the type of trade that feels like low value for Wiseman but very well may be more than anyone is willing to give up for him I a year.
