So i thought this could be fun as each team gets knocked out. Especially at a time in which fans of said eliminated teams are thinking very clearly
So where do the Lakers go from here?

See if there's a decent starter quality guy on the market for Kuzma/'21 1st, hope they can get a few decent vets who still view them as a good chance to ring chase. Not much else to be done for the roster.

Short of pulling some strings with Daddy Silver, I don’t see the rest of their pieces bringing back a third star in the CP3/Lowry mold.
Probably mostly run it back, fill out the roster with ring chasers, hope that Bron/AD stay healthy

If purgatory is having 2 of the top 10 players in the league and a good supporting cast then sign me tf up.

FireSale! Trade them all. LBJ is gonna be 37 in December, AD is injury prone. I'd explore trades for both LBJ will be hard to trade they'll have to have his approval.

Is Kuzma/1st in range for Barnes?
Adams/Thad Young/Bertans all make approximately Kuzma money.

Lakers are very fortunate to be in LA. Lebron is really getting up there in age, hes had a great career, but nothing last forever.
AD will not be able to carry this team to the playoffs let alone making any serious noise.
They've traded most of their draft picks. They have zero cap space.
Best case scenario is they find a team to take on KCP/Kuzma/pick for an overpaid player. Maybe Portland decides its officially time to move on from CJ? But that seems light for him.

KCP/1st for Barnes? Sure. I could live with it. Kuzma, absolutely not.

Kuzma and Schröder need to be moved for something.
Kemba Walker maybe. Lakers have decent guards to pair with Kemba. Caruso, THT, KCP.
But who knows. Lakers FO seem to love Kuzma. I don't get it.

His attitude has actually been pretty decent the last couple years. Really been ok with changes and limiting his role, talks on defense, says vanilla good sportsmanship things and generally supportive of his teammates.
Will not even attempt to contest the trash player part, though.

I hate this team, I hate every transaction they've made since signing LeBron. They have few assets and most of their young players are RFAs this offseason, so I think the plan is to trade Trez if he does not opt out, see if they can upgrade Kuzma (I like the Barnes suggestion) and wait to see if they can make moves at the deadline. Do not bring back Schroeder.
Really, I think they should think about trading LeBron to the Clippers for Paul George. This at least gives them a nice medium-term outlook, and the Clippers need a shakeup, as well.

Lakers are not trading LeBron, unless he requests it. It's critical to their future to be seen as a desirable location for top-notch free agents. It would set their reputation back immeasurably to dump LeBron somewhere against his wishes. And given how much LeBron cares about his reputation, I can’t see him requesting a trade to the by-far less popular team in L.A.

While not impossible, a sign and trade of Schroeder feels tough.
