Philly trades: Simmons, Harris
Philly receives: Siakam, McCollum
Portland trades: McCollum, 2022 lotto protected 1st
Portland receives: Harris
Toronto trades: Siakam
Toronto receives: Simmons, POR 2022 lotto protected 1st
Why for Philly: Make embiid happier by getting his countryman who can be a solid 2nd/3rd option alongside new guard initiator in CJ.
Why for Portland: Roster balance, pretty solid starting five imo.
Why for Toronto: try out Simmons as Center? Tons of successful 5's out there who cant shoot FT's well.. should be easier on his mental wellbeing to not face criticism as a point guard?
Embiid
Siakam
Green
Curry
McCollum
Simmons
Boucher
OG
GTJ
FVV
Nurkic
Harris
Covington
Powell
Dame
EDITTED: took out philly 1st outgoing per feedback which i agreed with

I'm not ready for an injured Siakam to be worth 2 first round picks more than a healthy Ben Simmons.

Hard no from POR.
Zero interest in Tobias Harris.

ya i was on the fence about the 28th for 46/47 swap. Initially had it just as Simmons + harris for Siakam and CJ, with the Portland 1st going to raptors. I got greedy

. I editted the philly 1st out

Ignoring the picks, I like the general direction for each squad in terms of roster makeup. Arguably of course could just cut Toronto and leave the classic CJ for Simmons deal. I could see it for all of them.

At this point i actually think Harris is a much better fit for Portland due to his ability to space and mesh w/ Nurkic. I still have Simmons and Siakam a tier above harris/CJ though.

I'm waiting out the Ben Simmons portion of the Sixers hot take thread, but Tobias is a player I sorta have my eyes on for Dallas if they want to majorly shake things up. He'd be Dallas' 2nd best player walking in the door and because of his contract not out of Dallas' limited asset price range. Not sure there is a direct deal as Dallas doesn't have a lot that could help Philly, but if they wanted to use his money to go get something else, good chance other teams are leery about Tobias' money so maybe opportunity.

Hopefully some team other than POR will capitalize on the “opportunity” to pay Tobias Harris.

Out of curiousity, and this is only hypothetical, if you were stuck between paying CJ 100/3 or Harris 114/3 which would you choose moving forward? just curious who you like/rather have between CJ and Harris

I love that only Portland has the opportunity to pay CJ. I want any other team to pay KP. It's eye of the beholder for these good but not great players who have contracts that exceed their contributions. Can Dallas add a talented guy giving up little of value other than financial risk? Great. Cuban promised he'd pay a bunch of tax and I'm calling it in.

All those stiffs are crazy overpaid. DAL is going to have to make a splash if the rumors of Lukas discontent are true. Maybe Myles Turner?

Issue here is that Harris and RoCo should both be playing the 4 I think. RoCo is good and I'm not sure replacing him with Tobias Harris does much.

I thought word out of portland fans all this time is trying to find a power forward lol.

Small Forward is the need here. A true small forward and not playing Powell there going forward. They've found their 4 in RoCo. They need a legitimate backup 4 though... I mean.. if you can upgrade RoCo for something that is steps above, you do it. But I'm not sure that Harris actually makes Portland better than RoCo, and I don't think the defense gets any better playing Harris at the 3 then it was playing CJ at the 2.

I don’t like either player.
If I owned a team making that choice I think I’d keep the money, spend half of it on hookers and blow and waste the rest.
Joking of course.

Siakam is way better than Simmons. Raptors wouldn't even consider this

What do you think Portland would be willing to give up in an Ingles for DJJ swap? For Utah I'd probably be looking to re-route the value/DJJ to Memphis for Anderson as a guy who can really play the 4.

Good question.
Not sure where the FO stands on Nassir Little. As a rookie I didn’t think he had a future as an nba player. A perimeter guy with zero handles and no shot has his work cut out for him.
He’s come a long way. His shot is much improved and his decision making is light years better than it was.
That said, he looks like a backup to me.
Ingles is old and slow but the crafty vet every team needs.
I’d do DJJr and 2 SRP and I know there are stronger offers out there.

What would you trade/give to acquire Harris? Would you give up on THJ to take him into cap? Seems hard to do w/o KP outgoing

No way Raptors even consider this
