Wow!

I'm a bigger Valanciunas fan than most, so I quite like this for both. Also kudos to the Pelicans for admitting the Adams extension was a mistake, and moving on before more time was wasted.

I can see what Memphis was thinking, but it feels like an absolute win for the Pelicans. Don't love this for Memphis.

Once again bad salary gets absorbed for less than the RGM consensus.

Think this pretty solid for both sides.

So Bledsoe + 17 = 10th

Valanciunas = Adams/future 1st/Seconds swap?

I'm not a big fan of either Valanciunas or Adams but it seems like he has the same issue fitting with Zion that Adams did.

I guess let’s see what the 2022 protection is, but put me as another fan that thinks Jonas is underrated. Really love this for OKC.

And so it begins. AWESOME. Good play by Memphis. Don't lose a lot on court and gain another core piece (if they hit). Not sure I like that from NOLA (really comes down to their FA signings now).

I like it quite a bit. Essentially this is JV/17 for Adams/10 which is the sort of move they should have been looking for. Then Bledsoe for the future Laker pick as a requirement for the first part. They lose a bit of value on that 2nd bit, but this gives them a chance to get the kind of offensive-minded prospect they need out of this draft.

For the Pels I love it too. They upgrade center(though I would probably be trying to move him on as well as he's an odd fit next to Zion) and clear some money towards an aggressive free agency push.

Why did Memphis involve JV in this? I wouldve held out on that part.. JV was part of what was working there.

If Adams and especially Bledsoe can remember how to play defense then this is decent for Memphis, even if likely a short-term step back (a small one if the new guys rebound to previous quality, a bigger one if they don't).

For NO, IMO their biggest need was defensive forwards (and moving Ingram to SG to also help their D), giving up their main tradable trade assets without dealing with that is an issue.

Too many pieces for us to know that for sure. JV has more value than Adams and we don't yet know the protections on the Lakers 1st.

Some information is missing on the details because I don't see how the LAL 2022 first can be protected.

2022 first round draft pick from L.A. Lakers
L.A. Lakers' 2022 1st round pick to New Orleans [L.A. Lakers-New Orleans-Washington, 7/6/2019]

Maybe there is some type or either -- or in regards to the New Orleans 2022 first.

First glance but I like this quite a bit for New Orleans, saved some money, got a bit of an upgrade, dropped 7 spots. Given they're more interested in winning sooner not sure they find a guy at 10 who's helping there.

Edit: Gut reaction voted New Orleans in the poll but the Grizz are getting what they wanted too so really win-win.

Teams can protect picks that other teams owe them, that was updated in the last CBA.

Am I crazy for thinking Memphis is going to be a real winner when we look back on this in 6 months?

Adams wasn't a great fit in New Orleans, but I think he will be great with Morant. I don't think Memphis is going to lose much there.

So to me this was taking Bledsoe to move up 7 spots and get the Lakers 1st? Love that.

I don't think Val is going to be the answer next to Zion. Shifting the issue.

Jake Fisher saying top 10 on Lakers pick. But remember Jake Fisher so...

OMG I love it. Not just we get a top-10 pick, we now have 3 1sts in 2022. I believe we’ll use one to trade up even further for Moody.

JV had no future in Memphis anyway. He already played as JJJ’s backup in the PO against Utah.

We can now trade Jones and Allen for more picks.

Sure and what are the details on the protection?

Does Memphis get nothing if New Orleans keeps the LAL 2022 first?

I still think that there is more information yet to come.
