Wouldn't have expected Det to need to add value to Mason. Good get for Charlotte I think.
I bought a boat.

100%. Thought Mason was awesome last year. Would have expected each pick to be heading in the opposite direction tbh. Oh well. Great great deal for Charlotte!

So, Detroit stretched everyone last year for ... this?

Nice move for Charlotte. Don’t get this at all for Detroit. What do they want cap space for?

One of those hate it for both deals for me. Don't think this is a good enough center for Charlotte for it to be their acquisition but maybe there is a follow-up move and value is fine so "hate" is too strong here. Detroit? I mean come on guys. Last year seemed like a disaster when it was happening and... yeah. At least they are brave enough to admit to mistakes quickly? That's all I got.

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.

Great deal for Charlotte. Plumlee is solid, much better than anything they had this season. Weaver continues to get robbed in trades, but nothing should get me upset today.

Did Weaver really think last offseason, that they were gonna be competing this season? Not seeing the big picture with the signing if this happens less than a year later

Solid value for a backup center and I certainly cannot complain about that, but we better have another move for a starter... this would be such a boring "solution" to our center woes.
This also takes us out of the Holmes sweepstakes

How many trade proposals on these boards had teams paying near-lotto for this dude.
Great job for CHA, he's a great fit.

This is really good for Charlotte but I though they should’ve aimed higher. Perhaps they go for Sengun with Mason as the stopgap.

Have to believe something else is in the works. In a vacuum he had a positive impact on the team.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

$8 mil for Plumlee
Save $10 mil if they cut Joseph
That would get them down to $100 mil before rookies.
Could deal Grant ($19) for #19 and #21. Then, after signing rookies, be close to min salary. Save a lot of cash for the owner of a rebuilding team.

Chuck! It finally happened!
Good deal for Charlotte. Not sure the reason for Detroit. Does this give them cap space?

If this was a trade idea instead of a reported deal....

Re: [WOJ]: Mason Plumlee + #37 for #57 (Detroit/Charlotte)
Yeah in a vacuum I don't get it for Detroit. IIRC they have plenty of capspace already, so buying more had better lead somewhere. Do they have their eyes on a big FA prize of some kind?
