Feels like a pretty good deal for Indy assuming someone gets moved. Whole lotta bigs on that roster.

EDIT: Makes a lot more sense now that the Wiz are getting an early 2nd in return. Its fine for both teams. Doesn't move the needle much for me one way or another.

Ok, I like this a little better for Washington with the added information about #31 coming back also. That also explains why Indy traded for #31 so early.

Whole lotta bigs on what roster? Indiana has Sabonis, Turner and Goga at 4/5 and then it's Brissett who is 6-7'' not a lot of bigs.

I was thinking centers.

I've seen Jackson projected as a 4 who can play 5.

Never thought you'd get a first for Holiday. Good dealing for Indy.

Like it for the Wiz, clearly they needed a PG, a guy with Holiday's familial pedigree is worth taking a flyer on alone.

Seems like a solid deal, but I did chuckle a little after Indy fans spent the offseason insisting the team would not value Wiseman because they couldn’t fit in another center.

(Sorry to be “that guy” for a second)

I get it. But Carlisle and Pritchard are firm in that Jackson is a 4. :dontknow: And, we traded Aaron and 4 seconds for Jackson, instead of, say, Turner or Sabonis?

It is quite frustrating when the fan base has a solid position on something and the team just comes in and does the exact opposite thing.

I am not a big fan of Jackson. When a guy can't shoot I ask myself what are we doing? Now I get we got him rather cheaply but cmon!

Yes, it does look strange. Feels like they might be making other moves

To be fair though, the cost of acquiring Isaiah Jackson was Aaron Holiday + #31. The cost of acquiring Wiseman is going to be a lot more than that

So a more refined explanation is it's not that the team was dead set against adding a 4th center - more like Wiseman will be a waste in that role, a role more suited for someone like Isaiah Jackson, especially considering the cost of acquisition

Pacers think Jackson can develop into a 4.

Wiseman needs minutes that we couldn't give though. Jackson will barely see thr court this year. The trade was a longterm play to save a bit of money, get a high upside prospect, and reset the rookie scale.

Wiseman is a 5. Pacers hope Jackson can develop an outside shot and become a 4. he can already guard 4's.

Jackson is not Wiseman and we didn't trade Turner for this guy, we traded Aaron Holiday and some 2nds.

Again that is not what happened here.

Y’all it was just a small attempt at humor. Not really trying to dissect or criticize the pick

I like Jackson for his defense and shot blocking, he's really bouncy with a 7-5 wingspan. He may be a long term backup at 4/5 but we think mostly he's a 4. This was one of my guys I wanted going in and thought he might slip to 31 when the team got that pick, but they must have known someone between 22 and 31 was gonna grab him, and there is the money saved between his salary and Aaron's.
