I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Santi Aldama would have been there at #40. Maybe even there at #61.

Yeah, very odd deal for Memphis. Not bothered about trading back to #40 for some future 2nds.

I had to go through like three different draft sites/big boards to see who he was. He has some range and a little passing though he has quite a few turnovers. Interesting prospect who we took too high. Like our other pick. Could pan out and the Memphis FO deserves a little trust, but feels like wasted chances to maximize assets since we could have stayed at 40 and/or maybe dropped back a few spots from 10 and still gotten the same guys.

Shout out to jman for having actually scouted him on our Memphis Forum well before the draft. He is low key an awesome scout who ESPN steals draft content from when it comes to international guys. Per jman he think it is likely a draft and stash candidate since he is a big who struggles with rim protection.

Well, getting Butler at #40 makes me quite like it for the Jazz. G'luck to Memphis, their scouting team is great, so no doubting them.

I am really surprised Butler was there at 40. When I heard about the trade I was a bit upset, but with that pick I actually think they nailed it.

Jazz are working on moving Favors to OKC, will probably attach those 2nds from Memphis.

Getting Butler and moving Favors' deal for a #30 pick is good value. Jazz have a close connection to Baylor, so must know Butler's medical situation.

Similar to Happy Z, Santa is a very high risk - very high reward kind of guy. I see what FO sees in him. I am staying on the positive side. Otherwise, I might hurt myself in a panic mode.
