Supposedly its a pre-arranged sign and trade. It's a lot of money but I don't hate it for the Bulls. They need defense.

Woj says it'll be a S&T (not sure whether it had to be for CHI to do it)

Temple is not the kind of guy you need to tamper with to sign immediately.

Good fit. Guy has improved every year in the league.
Pretty happy. The Bulls have been a team that hasn't gotten the guys they want. Now seem to be operating as a part of the "inner group" of the league.
Don't think they're done either.

Really liked him in Chicago. Under the radar guy, apparently loved in the locker room too.

Imagine getting Ball at this when Fultz signed for 3 for 17 per year.

Agree. But if this fits into the room exception, I don't hate snapping up a guy to provide some real leadership and it costs them no cap. Note: no idea on the numbers.

Gonna be a sign and trade likely 3 way with the Hornets involved for Graham.

Nice move. I'd rather have him than Hart.

NOP I guess really likes Sato as well as Temple as a locker room guy?

Don't get this at all for them. They aren't really saving money and this is not a team in position to bleed talent.

Re: [Charania]: Ball Signs w/ the Bulls (4/$85) Update: Sign and Trade
Sending Sato and Temple means the Bulls still have money to work with, either in a sign and trade of Lauri or renouncing him (less money available then).
But they'll get to keep Thad now.
Really excited for how this went down, could not have been smoother from Chicago.

Maybe some of it is helping a new coach set a tone/direction. It should be easier to do with some solid citizen veterans in the locker room rather than mostly youngsters.

I personally would keep Ball because I think he is a decent player, is young, and I don't see a better player coming along anytime soon via cap space for NOP. If they don't want to tie up the money then okay. But why pay Memphis to dump Bledsoe for the LAL 1st just to get a 2nd and Sato in return? Maybe they thought they had a shot at Lowry until the Woj tweet this morning/last night of him going to Miami?
