That feels like a lot of money for Doug.

I'm glad the Spurs have so clearly picked a direction, although they could have picked a better direction.

I really like him as a bench player, but that's a lot. Like a lot, a lot.

Yeah I don't like the numbers on this. But I guess it means Pop is back and the Spurs are going to keep pushing!

Wonder what this means for DDR...

Pacer fans liked him but knew that TJ was the Mc to retain. He's worth 42 but we didn't have that much room below tax.

What I dislike the most is that it likely means SA used cap space (unless it's an S&T).

Anyways, the Spurs haven't changed direction. It doesn't make sense to tell them to pick one.

That's not bad deal for Doug IMO. He could be a starter. Would much rather Doug 3/42 than 5/90

We don't have any space under the tax line to be able to take anyone back. Unless you have a TPE to send him into, which we would be happy to.

Otherwise, it may be a TAD rich for Doug, but not far off. The guy was a cutting wizard, and is MUCH more than just a spot up shooter behind the arc. The motion and finishing ability are top notch. Seriously, he's a surprisingly GREAT finisher at the rim. He's getting much savvier on defense, though he's still not good. But he'll likely hit a point in the mid to late part of his career where he is surprisingly decent there just on knowledge alone.

Though, he has barely played ANY time at the PF for the Pacers over the last 3 years. Anything you see on Basketball Reference was incorrect, as Justin largely played the PF with Doug at the SF, and the site tended to flip them based on their height.

I think the plan currently is to run Murray (ugh) White, Johnson, McD, Poeltl. Which of Keldon or Doug you call PF is probably incidental. Hopefully there's a Murray trade down the line.

Spurs look like a prime candidate for Ben Simmons, previous offers notwithstanding.

Yikes. Sometimes it's better to only have the MLE at your disposal.

It's ok, I guess, but there's not really any potential for upside. If he's your missing piece, go ahead and add him at 110% of the market price in the early hours of free agency. But not for a team that just missed the playoffs...

Assuming the Spurs are likely to get Indy's second and keep their own.
