Chicago not defending anyone, but lots of talent all of a sudden.

So Collins no longer has his leverage right? Would be funny if Atlanta came down from 5/125 now and he played himself.
Also what happens with Markannen now? Chicago needs defense desperately. Markkanen in this? Thad is not enoough salary.

I'm not digging this for Chicago. Using another 1st is rough.

Good for the Spurs.
Chicago is now a relevant sixth seed team now....congrats I guess. In for a penny in for a pound...

In hindsight, they would have been better offer by trading LaVine for the best rebuilding package possible and starting over.
The patching with DDR and Vucevic isn't going to elevate them to being a true contender.

While, if I were a Bulls fan, I wouldn't love giving up 3 first round picks for Nikola Vucevic and DeMarr DeRozan, I kind of like how these pieces fit.
DeRozan is a mid range player who is surrounded by 3 guys in LaVine, Vucevic and Ball who are plus shooters. There is still some upside pieces in Patrick Williams and Coby White, plus some nice other pieces. Not a championship contender, but a better version of what the Knicks are trying to build.

I hope it is a top 20 protected pick, or else this looks like a big meh to me.
Ball/LaVine/DDR/Pat Williams/Vuc
Ayo Dosunmu/ White/Caruso/ ?/ ??
Look right?

Vuc/
Pat Williams/Aminu
DeRozan/Troy Brown
LaVine/Coby
Lonzo/Caruso
Its a oddly shaped team, but I like they at least continued all in after last years move. Need to vet depth up front for sure.

So are they keeping Lauri?
Thought they'd keep Thad

+1
Bulls just traded a mid-lottery pick for Vuc and still owe a 2023 (for him) and what is probably a 2025 for DDR. Bad/mediocre teams trading away future 1st rarely ends well.

Offensively they can be very good if Zach Lavine understands his new role is largely off-ball and let the better creators DD and Vuc run the offense--I have real doubts about LaVine's willingness here.
But defensively this is really really rough. Ball/Caruso don't remotely solve that.

Aminu is the other matching piece.
