Nice deal for Memphis. Culver is a decent reclamation project to invest.

Like it for Minnesota. They need defenders especially in the backcourt.

Not sure why Memphis is in asset collection mode after they made the playoffs last year but Culver is a decent guy to take a flier on

Creates a larger hole at Power-Forward for Minnesota, but honestly, I am happy with this deal. Jarret Culver's might eventually become a rotation-level player, but I was completely right about being disappointed when Minnesota drafted him.

Glad no picks were involved, I am happy with this.

So Memphis has to waive someone before they can process this deal, and otherwise, they’ll be at 20 guaranteed guys? Did they guarantee Merrill, or did they come to an agreement to push back his guarantee date? Certainly will be eating some guaranteed deals, it appears.

Minny fills the hole they made by trading Rubio, and didn't seem to cost them anything really worth keeping.

Memphis didn't need PatBev either, but after the last few days they've got some work to do getting that roster back down to 15 by season's start.

Culver is 22, Duarte is 24.

Culver cost about double what Duarte makes too.. he's a reclamation project at this point. hopefully he does better in memphis

Being blunt, there is a reason why Jarrett Culver was thrown into a trade like this as the worst player in the deal.

His ceiling is fifth starter, my expectation is that he ends up being an eighth man, if he doesn't bust. It is not the worst gamble, but keep expectations low.

Like it for both sides. Culver wasn't going to get any minutes here to become anything.

I agree with the low expectations point. My light optimism bases on Kyle Anderson`s magic transformation. His speed was and still is lower, his shooting mechanic was and still is even worse than Culver`s ones.

I like this for Minnesota, a lot considering how their fans describe Culver. Combining the Det trade, makes this cap neutral and they’ve upgraded their defense and neither guy takes the ball out of their stars hands. I like it a lot.

Minnesota still has their MLE right? And enough tax space to use almost all of it on Millsap?

I’d really love putting Millsap, Bev, and Prince around KAT and Ant (DLo/Beas/Jaden)

Memphis.. I think it’s alright? I think taking a shot on Culver is the same as getting a decent 2nd, and I think that’s all they could get for Bev without taking on salary.

It’s funny because I actually thought about proposing this.

Minnesota gets a solid vet who hopefully sparks their team, didn’t seem like Juancho would stick around.

Memphis takes a flier on two younger players while moving someone that didn’t want.
They just need to move 3 people/contracts I think

Smart deal for Memphis. Take a flier on Culver, Juancho is serviceable, Bev is a loser.

Man, Minnesota needs some dogs, and they got one for cheap. KAT is going to love playing next to Bev.

Another perspective, what in the world is Memphis doing?

As annoying as Bev is, he is the best player in the deal by a decent margin
