3-Way trade: your thoughts?

Lauri for Party Rocking: good for Cleveland. They badly wanted a shooter to fit their timeline, and just locked one up.

DJJ Got Us Fallin' in Love: good for Chicago. Lauri was on the outs and they got an athletic flyer and a pick to start refilling the pile.

Nance Nance Revolution: good for Portland. They badly needed an upgrade at forward and got one without breaking the bank.

Nice Guys. Finnish last.: good for no one. Cavs spent big on another big, Chicago should have kept Nance, and this isn't going to move Dame's needle.

Well this sounds good for Portland.

Edit: Same for the Bulls.

Definitely. It's not enough, but it's a very solid move. Somewhat curious for Cleveland I think, especially given the insistence that Nance was borderline untouchable not too long ago.

I absolutely despise this for Cleveland. Wouldn't have traded Nance for Lauri much less wildly overpay him.

I'll eat crow on Chicago getting what they wanted out of this though. Never thought anyone would send a pick for this privilege.

Great for Chicago. I mean amazing. They held out and got two picks for a guy everyone knew wasn't coming back. RFA is powerful.

Why for the Cavs?

They just committed to Mobley/Allen as the starting front court of the future?

I guess I see now that Nance is heading to Portland..

Amazing for the Bulls.

I hate it for both Portland and Cleveland

surely this means Kevin Love is being traded or (more likely) bought out, right?

I….really don’t get this for Cleveland. With Jarrett Allen locked up long-term and Evan Mobley freshly drafted and they still have Kevin Love, I just don’t get it. Is there a Kevin Love buyout coming? Even so, I feel like I’d prefer Nance and his flexibility (and not that contract) than Lauri.

Good deal for Portland, probably, if that’s truly a lotto protected 1st. Chicago getting a first and a probably super late 2nd (from Denver) and only having to eat DJJ’s expiring is really smart value for them, and getting over the Lauri era.

its a tough one to swallow as a CLE fan. Larry meant more than his value as a player.

the upside is the 3 big rotation we've just locked in is going to grow together over the next 4 years.

as for Love - the team obviously is not counting on him as part of the future. i don't think this means anything specific about Love.

edit: as for the often mention fit - Markkanen is a fit. He's the floor spacer to compliment Allen and Mobley.

I like this for Portland, Zeller seemed like Risky insurance for often injured Nurkic. Nance should be able to step in at the 4 when they play big or the 5 when they go small, and fill in as the starter if necessary.

Yeah Cleveland traded a better player in Nance who wanted to be there and is a better fit with their other bigs. Really a terrible move.

I like this for everyone but CLE. They just spent over $15 million a year on a 3rd big while also sending out a really productive, better player in Nance.

Love it for Portland and Chicago. Nance will fit in great with Dame and CJ. Nance and Nurk looks irritating on defense.

Bulls are building a solid team. 4 Shooters around DeMar. Just got rid of a huge defensive liability (Markkanen). High impact starters LaVine, Vucevic, DeMar, Lonzo. They're a breakout Pat Williams season away from being contenders in the east. But even if it's regular improvement from him, they're still a threat for homecourt advantage.

I have no idea what Cleveland is doing here. I have no confidence in Altman anymore. Nance is better than Lauri and he was getting paid much less.
