Once Siakam is healthy and given long term deal to Birch and acquisition of Achiwura in Lowry S&T, I could see Boucher becoming expendable if Raps are outside looking in of EC playoff picture come TD or in early 2022.

On that note, assuming his play is near the same as it was last season, is he worth a 1st round pick?

Voted for 2 2nds but not entirely sure there. Might be one good one.

Ultimately an expiring big who's started 14 games in his career isn't going to pull a first.

Probably not unless there is more value contributed. But I wouldn't rule out a team trading a heavily protected 1st for him between now and the deadline if they are a good playoff team who suffers an injury and he's playing as well as he did last year.

If his play keeps up from last year (esp prior to our blatant tanking), then I think masai would ask for a 1st or young prospect with potential (ala powell for GTJ last year). There should still be lots of minutes available so we can always keep him if we don't get a 1st.

I doubt it but like others said there might be a PO bound team who really needs what CB brings. I would put the odds at like 4:1 that would happen though.

Also this doesn’t change the conversation but I find folks on these boards often don’t know Boucher turns 29 this year. One of those guys who didn’t break through for a while.

If he had 2 years of production like last, rather than a single, I would say he is worth a late FRP. But right now I think 2-3 SRPs.

IMO Chicago “should” do DJJ and that Portland first for Boucher right now. But I also think they should have taken Nance there. So I think I’m wrong on that one.

I think that’s their best shot until someone gets injured or they jump into a bigger trade? Like Indy might prefer getting back Boucher than a late first if they are doing some complicated Simmons for Turner+? deal. Leaving it vague intentionally.

But I think it’s much more likely Boucher value is a semi-disappointing prospect (or two) and a second (or two)

Hard to get much value from an expiring role player, so right now two seconds (and a less/non productive expiring) seems like the right value. But yeah, injuries happened, and he has a skillset that could help a team. I know he’d be useful on the Wolves. But unless it’s a contender that really needs him for a playoff run, I don’t think TOR can draw a late 1st. It wouldn’t hurt the Raptors to wait and see if that happens though.

He’s in a weird spot where a “1st” feels too much but a pair of 2nds feels like not enough. A trade for a guy like Culver, Bamba, etc. and a good 2nd would be the value I put on him.

at the deadline I think a playoff team could realize they need an extra big and trade their late 1st for him. I don't think there's any way in hell they get a lottery pick, and I think a top 20 pick is unlikely, but after that I can see any contender or pretender sacrificing a pick to get him hoping he's the missing piece.

Not unless he improves. His value is likely MLE so teams can just sign him outright. FRPs go for guys who command more than that so teams can acquire their bird rights.

I wouldn’t give him up for less than a first and I think that if the starting offer were two seconds, some team would step up and offer more in a bit of a bidding war. He could be very helpful to a contending team and is easily obtainable under that contract.

If Boucher has another year like he did in 2021-22 he's going to get offers of $12-15 million per over 3 years. His trade value is going to be heavily dictated by how he plays under normal regular season circumstances.

I dont think he's dealt unless Raps get at least a quality 2022 2nd and 2024 2nd along with some form of a prospect. I also like Korkmaz + Niang + Philly 2nds as well.

Serge Ibaka got MLE from Clippers coming off a better season than Boucher on a 60 win pace Raptors team. Harrell got MLE coming off 6moy. Noel just got a little less than MLE. Holmes got MLE. Birch got less than MLE. Olynyk got a little more. It doesn't seem like there's much of a market above MLE for undersized back up F/C types.

with no hint that he'd resign as an UFA, unless you had a basket full of 2nd round picks no way he's worth that. He's taken on this mythical status but he's not the last piece carrying your contender to the title

Boucher is not a C, he might get some small ball minutes there, but with Blake, Milsap and JJ in that role his center minutes would be very small. Between Blake, Millsap and Durant playing the PF minutes, I just don't see the need for Boucher there. I rather keep Claxton, cheap and could improve and be the starter if Blake and Millsap decline or walk next year.
