LA Lakers trade: Talen Horton-Tucker, DeAndre Jordan, Kent Bazemore
Rockets trade: Eric Gordon, 2023 MIL 1st (lottery protected, otherwise 2024 Brooklyn 1st lottery protected, otherwise 2024 Brooklyn + Golden State 2nd)

Lakers get a shooter and an asset for a future trade. Rockets get a young small forward who can move the ball and cut salary next season at the cost of a lotto protected first.

Take out the pick and maybe. But I don't have Houston owing the Lakers a pick here.

I have Gordon as a negative on his contract and THT as positive, figured a lottery protected pick was not a huge ask, wanted to do two seconds instead but they don't have any of value to trade.

I have THT a negative on his as well. But with Gordon being currently a good player and THT, well not. Then Houston is having two waive 2 guys to accommodate the Lakers as well. Just can't see Houston wanting to give a first for THT.

I think it's fair but I doubt Lakers move on THT for Gordon.

By the way, Gordon and Westbrook were an awful fit.on the Rockets. It was actually a decent reason why the Rockets struggled in that year. Westbrook worked well with everyone but Gordon and Gordon was the 3rd/4th highest paid.

I don't see Houston being happy to include a first (even a quasi one) to dump Gordon unless they are high on the guy they are receiving...which they could be with THT

I agree with Chuck tho, THT, as of now, is at best, neutral. He signed an okay extension, but hasn't played yet this year, and could end up being a value deal as likely as he could be a bad deal.

Also think Houston would want a third team to take on Jordan so they don't have to waive multiple guys

I like this deal, as I feel like EG is a realistic get and a guy I’ve had my eye on.

HOU is in no position to send out FRP, especially for scrubs and unremarkable roleplayers.

I think the Lakers have enough no defense volume shooting with Melo, Ellington and Monk.

No need to pay Eric Gordon to do it

To me, Bazemore is one of the key role players on the Lakers roster. He's one of the few guys on the Lakers roster with the size/length to defend the wing while also being close tp his prime years (32 years old), close to an average 3 point shooter for his career while being known as an above average defender. He is likely a guy who turned down a taxpayer mid level deal with multiple guaranteed years for a chance to go to LA and win a championship. So, he can't be a throw in unless there is a replacement for him.

Regarding THT, I would not be opposed to trading him, but if I did, I would need to get back a 2 way wing with size to defend the 2 and 3 while also being an above average 3 point shooter. I am not sure if this player is available (and if I'm the Lakers i'd throw a 1st rd pick into this trade if I could end up with this kind of player), but that is what this team needs. What Gordon provides is a little redundant with what Monk and Nunn provide, and even if Gordon is an upgrade, it doesn't make the whole better.

The only thing I can see potentially making sense is if Portland decides they want to get off the Normal Powell contract, although I wouldn't include a 1st in this scenario if I'm the Lakers. Portland would get a younger player on a cheaper, shorter deal while the Lakers would get a more proven commodity who is a better outside shooter, but the back end of the contract is potentially unpleasant.

Jordan/Howard
Davis/Anthony
James/Bazemore/Ariza
Powell/Monk/Ellington
Westbrook/Nunn/Rondo
