Simmons to ORL

Cole Anthony, Wendell Carter Jr and Gary Harris
for
Ben Simmons, Isaiah Joe
Probablg Philly doesn't do it, because of their non proportional demands for Simmons, but this seems to me like a fair value. Philly gets two young players who have shown they're valuable assets, with much room to grow but also win-now contribution. Orlando gets a star PG/PF that can be their star.
This brings Philly a really deep team.
Philly depth chart:
Cole Anthony / Tyrese Maxey / Shake Milton
Tyrese Maxey / Curry / Shake / G. Harris
Seth Curry / Danny Green / Thybulle / Kurkmaz
Tobias Harris / Wendell Carter / Niang / Reed
Embiid / Wendell Carter / Drummond
Orlando depth chart:
Simmons / Suggs / Fultz / Hampton
Suggs / Ross / Hampton / Joe
Wagner / Isaac / Okeke / Ross
Isaac / Simmons / Wagner
Bamba / Lopez / Mo / Simmons
Other option is replacing Anthony or WCJ with Franz Wagner who may be the highest potential player in Magic. Not sure how Magic will view this.

I think this would be good for Philadelphia.

It’s a star’s league
Morey would be crucified for doing this if the team didn’t win

Replace WCJ with Isaac , and with Curry and Maxey on the Sixers, I'm not sure Cole is a good selling point, they need wings.

Orlando passes. Im just not sold on Simmons fixing his shooting issues. He isnt worth a max deal on what he provides to me.

Ehh I'm kinda torn.
Orlando passes simply because they're allergic to any player that will cause any type of distraction, but if they viewed Simmons similar to Fultz I think I will be okay with this.
Switch Carter w/ Bamba and Orlando throws in a protected pick and call it a day.
Ben Simmons
Filler if applicable
for
Cole Anthony
Mohammed Bamba
Gary Harris
'25 FRP (via Denver)
Philly also passes because they want a marquee name and this trade doesnt accomplish that, maybe loop in a third team?

Philly doesn't go anywhere near this

As an experienced viewer of Simmons threads, "third team" is always a crowd pleaser when Team A is trying to shovel expendable assets over to the Sixers for him. Problem is that that third team isn't going to be any more willing to swallow the value gap then Philadelphia is.
For the record, centers and shoot first PGs are the two things the Sixers LEAST need.

From a Orlando perspective I think something along lines of Issac, Bamba and Harris for Simmons and filler could make sense for both teams. This would probably need to be done later in the year when Orlando’s tank is secure and Isaac is heathy.
Orlando’s lineup:
Cole
Suggs
Wagner
Simmons
Carter
Plus a top 5 pick. So let’s they get lucky and grab Chet in the draft.
Then they have:
Simmons
Suggs
Wagner
Chet
Carter
Philly goes with:
Maxey
Curry
Isaac
Harris
Embiid

from orlando view if isaac is healthy on his 17 mill a yr contract is worth more then simmons on max...for me its not close..

Its interesting. The Orlando lineup has a crap ton of size. But it seems like they finally decided to rebuild and asset collect last year, and I'm a fan of how the process has started
Suggs/Hampton/Anthony/Issac/Wagner/Okeke/Carter/Bamba
They are off to a good start on the rebuild. You could see how adding a top 5 pick, Suggs taking a leap, and Issac (crossing fingers) getting healthy would create a really exciting team.
Id hold off on a deal if I was the Magic. Why rush the process.

TBH, Morey would/should be crucified if the 76ers don't make a strong Finals push. He took a stand against the grain, and if it costs the 76ers a year of their contention window, fans should be pissed
I think this is a realistic idea for right now, but ORL may have to window-dress it a little bit for Morey. Maybe a top 20 protected first that reverts to throwaway 2nd

I don't think the OP trade would change Philly's championship odds in the slightest, versus having Ben Simmons not play all season.

Sure it does. ORL doesn’t have what it takes to get Simmons outside of Suggs, whom I imagine they aren’t trading. So might as well discuss something productive.

But Orlando has no reason to be interested in Harris so that wouldn't be a productive discussion either.

Why not? You’re tanking. Maybe a 1st could be involved?

Because we have enough young forwards that we wouldn't want to pay him to take minutes that are better used to develop them.

That's a useless package for the Sixers. I sont think they are looking to break Simmons into some mediocre pieces.
