Sabonis and Turner offers

Make your best offers for Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner. The worst I I can say is nothing which is equal to hanging up the phone. Feel free to include other Pacers players except Malcolm Brogdon who can't be traded now. Make sure the Pacers aren't bringing in more salary then sending out. Try to keep the number of players traded as equal as possible on both sides.

Hornets trade:
Mason Plumlee (Pacers)
Ish Smith (Pacers)
remove protections from 2022 first round pick (Knicks)

Receive:
Kemba Walker
Mitchell Robinson

Why: Upgrade their 5 spot and their bench for the playoff run. Biggest cost is Kemba's extra year and even that is somewhat offset by the loss of Smith.

Knicks trade:
Kemba Walker (Hornets)
Mitchell Robinson (Hornets)
Obi Toppin (Pacers)
2022 First Rounder from Knicks (Pacers)
2022 Second Rounder from Hornets (Pacers)
2023 First Rounder from Dallas (Pacers)

Receive:
Myles Turner
removed protections from Charlotte first rounder

Why: Upgrade their center spot with a guy who can hit the 3 and still block shots. Hope that the Hornets collapse and the pick amounts to something of value right now but otherwise ensure they receive the pick this year regardless. Steep price to pay but I think this would open up the floor more for Randle.

Pacers trade:
Myles Turner (Knicks)

Receive:
Obi Toppin (Pacers)
Mason Plumlee (Pacers)
Ish Smith (Pacers)
2022 First Rounder from Knicks (Pacers)
2022 Second Rounder from Hornets (Pacers)
2023 First Rounder from Dallas (Pacers)

Why: Save some money. Get 3 picks including a potential late lotto pick and a prospect they can develop in Toppin whose having a bounce back year off the bench.

Pacers say no, not interested in Plumlee or Smith. If you want to get Turner to the Knicks you probably need to start with Barrett and add Toppin to be seriouly considered. Maybe Toppin and Quickley starts the conversation.

I like the original offer better with Charlotte left out. How about Turner for Toppin, Quickley, Walker and the picks and Pacers trade Craig somewhere for a 2nd to open a roster spot?

Cutting out the Hornets complication, Obi, Mitchell Robinson + 2 variously protected 1sts feels like REALLY strong value for Myles. I think Turner is one of the more overrated guys amongst the trade board (and himself lol) but if the Knicks said yes I can't imagine how the Pacers could say no.

I feel like Turner is underrated and would rather trade Sabonis because of how well Turner plays on offense without Sabonis. I think the Pacers could easily say no.

The pacers are locked into 9-12th seed territory. If that's the build they think is adequate then sure, wait and see if they can grow to outplay expecatation as a unit. But IMO Sabonis is the unique talent holding this team above bottom feed level. And Turner is more of the "can you just imagine if he reaches his potential" type of dreamer big man prospect. He's good, yes. But he's isn't as good as Sabo, and in all the years of them combined he hasn't grown in any impact. At some point you have to take advantage where you can on certain guys and make a hard turn to try and fix the issue at hand.

The biggest issue for the Pacers is the injury to TJ Warren. When he was last healthy the Pacers were the 4 seed in the Orlando bubble without Sabonis and with Oladipo at about 70%. The Pacers entered the playoffs in the bubble with the 2nd best record in the bubble games behind Phoenix. The Pacers lost in the 1st round to a hot Heat team that went on to the finals despite Turner outplaying Bam in the series. Sabonis has missed one game this season and Turner went for 32 and 10 in a win. If Warren was healthy the Pacers aren't having trade talks right now. This season, the team is 4-16 in games decided by 10 points or less and 10-4 in games decided by 11 points or more. The Pacers have a net + points differential on the season despite being 14-20. I really expect the Pacers to be .500 by the trade deadline and no major trades to be made.

I thought we solved this. :D

Sabonis/LeVert/Lamb/Craig

Fox/Buddy/2 2nds

No tax for Indy, Kings kept their firsts. This is a move both teams should do barring something better.

I don't want to trade Levert now that he is playing great this month.

Sabonis/Lamb

Fox/ 2 2nds

1 2nd and a conditonal 2nd if Fox shoots a lower percentage from 3 than Sabonis this season. I mean he's a PG for god sakes :D

Make me an offer I can't refuse since I'm nearing a Sabonis/Fox trade.

Why do you want to invest close to 80mil in a backcourt trio of which none is a good defender?

Brogdon is a good defender when not guarding quicker guards and LeVert is playing decent defense this month. I'm hoping a change in scenery helps Fox. He has the quickness to be solid on that end and we still have Turner to clean things up. Also, it's around 65 mil and Brogdon and LeVert can both play SF.

3 way deal so all these teams can finally move on with their guys.

Philly: Dame

Indy: Ben Simmons, 1st round pick via Philly in 22

PDX: Sabonis, Maxey, 1st round pick via in 24

Indy would have to add more salary to match and I'm not sure Portland would want to move on from Lillard.

One stop shopping…

Ayton + Saric + Crowder + 2024 Suns 1st (unprotected) + 2026 Suns 1st (protected)

FOR

Sabonis + Turner + Small Filler

Suns try Sabonis and Turner in their system, paired in a deep playoff run, lead by Paul. Sarver punts on Ayton decision, and can decide on Turner next year. Depending on how Sabonis and Turner pairing works for Suns, they can always recoup value (if needed) by trading one in the future.
Turner
Sabonis
Bridges
Booker
Paul

Pacers retool by giving Ayton his own new team to showcase and shine. Future Suns 1sts could be sexy if Paul ages out or something breaks bad in Phoenix.

Note: I think value is Ayton > Sabonis > Turner. Gap is small between Ayton and Sabonis and not massive between the three all together. I also don’t think Ayton for Sabonis works for Suns. Sabonis doesn’t provide the D PHX needs at the 5 — maybe they keep him at PF with C by Committee. Turner for Ayton could have legs but just don’t see a good fit with Ayton and Sabonis pairing, or how Pacers close value gap. Enter all-in Suns to try Pacers pairing in PHX.
