Heat get another scoring big form Rockets, is value fair?

I think the Heat need to add some size and add another big to take some pressure off Bam/Tucker.

Christian Wood is wasting in Houston.

Heat out : D.Robinson + Omer Yurtseven + lottery protected FRP (first available)

Rockets out : Christian Wood

Heat why? Adding a in prime big that kinda shoot 3's and add some overall scoring and size.

Rockets why? Wood doesn't fit the timeline, they get a pick and a young C that showed real promise, Also Duncan will create some needed offensive spacing for their young stars to develop and/or can fetch another first rounder down the line from a contender needing shooting.

What say you?

Find a different home for Robinson that results in Hou getting an expiring, lower the protections to top 10, and I’d consider it a solid offer.

Robinson to Raptors for Dragic?
Robinson to Jazz for Ingles?
Robinson to Cavs for Rubio?
Robinson to Pelicans for Satoransky?

The Pelicans option seems plausible. I think they have a TPE they can take him in, too. Might require something coming from Miami to help grease the wheels a bit, but I think that's fine, as Robinson probably has negative value around the league.

This topic appears to be a variation of Hou - Mia - LAL (Houston cashes in its vets) .

I think it's about fair value, though ideally you'd send Robinson to a third team that values him, like the Pelicans, where'd fit well imo next to (point) Zion, Valanciunas and Ingram, both from a fit and timeline standpoint.

Not sure how highly the Rockets would value Yurt, since they already have Sengun, but Yurt no doubt is a fine player that would fit their timeline. Then again, like ThatBoyNick alluded to, I think they'd rather have a smaller or at least declining protection on the first rounder from the Heat.

Something like:

Heat out : Duncan Robinson + FRP (first available, declining lottery protection)
In: Christian Wood

Pelicans out: Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple + 1 of their many FRP
In: Duncan Robinson, Armoni Brooks

Rockets out : Christian Wood, Armoni Brooks
In: Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple + 2 FRP

I'm not giving up both Omer and a first for Wood. I'd rather just keep Yurtseven and develop him.

The Rockets front office believes that Wood fits the timeline just fine.
Apparently, they aren't likely to trade him unless an offer blows them away.
Duncan Robinson is on a bad contract and they have Mathews on a minimum contract who is currently a better shooter.
Wood also has a better 3 point percentage than Robinson this season.
So, no, this is not going to work.

If Spo won't play him with Bam we are essentially developing him to play the Dedmon role? We need to find bigs that are able to play with our max Center. Essentially a big athletic enough to switch and hit 3's with consistency is what Spo wants next to Bam.

I think eventually he will learn to play with him. I think next year we'll see the two of them together quite a bit.

Yurtseven is only 3 years younger than Wood and not nearly as good. I honestly don't place much value on Yurtseven. I'd prefer they throw in a swap option instead of him if they value him

Oh that's completely fine by me. Robinson, a first, and a pick swap for Wood would be fine.

Ok, only barrier now is finding a Robinson third team.

Would want 2025 top 12 protected that declines and a swap option with very light protections in the year after that conveys (not sure that language is possible, but something along those lines)
I'd probably be willing to kick OKC a second to unprotect that 23 pick as well

I'm right here offering up Dallas to be the 3rd team in a Robinson deal, but I'd assume another team could and would offering a pure expiring so I'd expect Dallas to get outbid. But then again a lot of posters on this board seem to see Robinson as majorly negative so maybe Dallas wins this fictional bid lol.

But I still hate the idea of Wood in Miami. I just don't think he's going to be happy being the 4th or sometimes 5th option when Kyle decides to look for his own.
