Is this just SAS during a little favor for Toronto? I don't see what they get out of this though in fairness they aren't really giving much up either.

Surprised Toronto is moving on Dragic so quickly since you could envision a last minute scenario where his huge expiring is needed (i.e., valuable) in a larger deal.

Also, RIP to that early season narrative that Thad was worth two 1sts.

According to ESPN trade machine (not always 100% accurate!) a straight-up swap doesn't work financially.

San Antonio needs to add more salary and IMO Toronto needs to add *some* value.

San antonio has been very active this trade deadline .
But mostly for expiring and for seconds.

SA has to send out a little more salary.
TOR is getting a player and saving over 5 mil (less whatever salary SA has to add).

So, seems like something needs to be going to SA to even this out - at least a 2nd and some cash.

This also suggests the Spurs are sending someone else, because why would you trade a cheaper guy for a more expensive guy and then buy the more expensive guy out when you could have just bought the cheaper guy out.

UNLESS Dragic is agreeing to a significantly reduced buyout, which is certainly possible.
