Very unlikely to be the case once details come out. I'm assuming the pick that Magic are sending is a fake 2nd otherwise they just ate two contracts for nothing. But maybe you'd prefer that over just acknowledging the misplaced hyperbole regarding the Magic's lack of interest in picks.

If the Magic value them, why do they sell them or trade them for future picks that will surely be worse?

I guess you could be right, however most fans take "value" to mean something that can score points and rebound where you must mean something that you can put in your bank account. If you mean it that way, OK, you are right. That is what you want to hear, right?

This debate has gotten so pedantic at this point. But until the Magic stop acquiring them or pass when its their turn to pick as opposed to trading them or selling them, its clear those picks have value to the Magic--as they do to literally every organization because truth be told 2nd round picks do hold value.

Now if you want to argue they don't value them enough to make any specific deal, totally fine. But every team values assets that hold value. Including lowly 2nd round picks.

Let's move on.
