So many trades from the Pacers and Spurs for future assets I don't know what to do with myself

I know the Suns have a nice history with Craig (and that's not nothing) but does this not seem like a fairly obvious overpay to anyone else?

$400k in savings this year for Pacers solves a lot of things.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Smith moved on, too.

I mean they made their call on Smith early, no? So once you aren't paying him, getting a wing defender for what you expect to be another deep playoff run seems okay to me. Any value mistake on Smith was made when they declined his 3rd year option.

Great move by the Suns. Of course, I don't know if you draft Torrey Craig with the 10th pick and pass on Haliburton, but what are ya gonna do.

I just mean I have Craig as worth about a 2nd and maybe salary relief, so this is valuing Smith at approximately zero. I know he hasn't exactly lit it up in his NBA career but that still seems low. Maybe I'm wrong, and not for the first time!

I think you mean Smith. :D

And plenty of other teams passed on Haliburton too.

Think of it as trading 2 1st for Chris Paul instead of 1, which is turning out to be a giant steal.

Declining his option basically made him worth near 0 in value.

No I meant like the hypothetical of drafting Craig because it's essentially a one for one deal. The opportunity cost of the Suns absolutely botching that draft is huge.
