Alternatively if you want to take some risk what about Hayward?

Holmes for Josh Hart? Hart may not be a clear cut starter but I think he’d fit well and Portland could really use Holmes. Plus it aligns expirings next year for Sac where they could basically have Fox, Domas, Mitchell and Murray and a ton of cap space if they wanted to try going that route

Not unless SAC is sending a FRP as well. Holmes is a bench guy.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Unless Nurk walks, I have Portland needing Hart a lot more than Holmes.

There is no chance Simons is worth that on a new contract...

I don’t either but there is a chance that SAC does.

I'm not sure he will even live up to his next contract, let alone attaching a pick here. Don't see him as the right fit either. Already have 2 smaller guards, would be looking for more of a 3&D guy.

Agree, I would do this deal in a heart beat. But Nurkic is likely resigned so it makes no sense for Portland.

Could be an okay option. Again not the needle mover I was looking for, probably more or less similar to DDV. And I'm still holding out hope the Kings use the MLE on Kyle Anderson or OPJ as a backup forward, so not sure how we could afford him.

Sign and trade w/ Orlando with a protected swap w/ CHI 2023 1st as incentive?

Would Utah do a DDV for O'Neale based trade?

At that price I would just resign DDV and look to upgrade that spot around the deadline.

With George and Kawhi back next year, Kennard/Mann already on board.

Do the Clippers entertain

Powell for Holmes/Holiday/Lotto Protected 1st?

or

Morris/Mann for Holmes/Holiday/2nds

or

Kennard for Holmes/2nds

RipPizzaGuy wrote:Let me start by saying I think Monte plans to resign DDV, start Mitchell/Fox, and have DDV/Davis as the backups. But I personally don't think that's acceptable if the team wants to win now. I want to upgrade the 2 spot and have a 4 guard rotation of Fox/Mitchell/Davis + new guy.

The idea is
Fox - ???? - Barnes - Murray - Sabonis
Mitchell - Davis - MLE - + whatever is left below

So assuming the pieces below are what we are using as trade bait, what is the best shooting guard we can trade for?

Holmes
Holiday (expiring)
Len (expiring)
Harkless (expiring)
Lyles (expiring)
Future 1st round picks (we own all our picks)
Future 2nds

I think it's going to be hard to find a significant upgrade over Mitchell/DDV at the 2 unless you're willing to throw in some pretty high value future 1st rounders. Maybe see if Toronto is willing to move Trent for Holmes/2023 1st with decent protection in advance of paying him?

I think the ship for Holmes sailed after Achiuwa's improvement and drafting Koloko. I think they will count on Birch coming back healthy and more effective while having Koloko fight for back up minutes.

Holmes is not a good fit for Barnes/Siakam, especially if it involves dealing GTJ (we need his spacing)

That's an interesting idea. I think it would have more legs if an OG for Sharpe style deal happened last night. As is probably unlikely Toronto decides to take a step back now.

Id love to find a way to get Poole. Can't see GS moving him after winning even if they don't plan to pay him in a year. Also tough because he makes so little and GS has essentially no matching salaries (outside of maybe Wiseman?) its hard to give any win now value in addition to a future 1st.

EGordon to SAC
Holmes and Holiday (or Harkless) to CHA
Plumlee, small filler from CHA, picks (a second from CHA and a second from SAC. If CHA and SAC each added another 2nd ro two, then KMart to SAC and Tate to CHA (fills needs for both).

Yeah post-draft I don't really see a Poole deal that makes sense for us.

Eric Gordon should be cheap and I think could be a good short term option.

Coby White and a future 2nd for Holmes? Coby would help well with shooting and plays off ball.
