Re: Spurs-Rockets
I think the Rockets are committed to one more year of tank. Also, those Nets picks look like gold right now - so HOU would probably want to do that NO type protection where they keep if it is top 4.
I think SA can get a solid offer elsewhere.

I know the Spurs would say no. For the record, I don't think the Rockets would be enthusiastic either. If they had Banchero and just Green were the Seattle guy instead of KPJ, I could see them getting caught up in the hype. But if Murray doesn't fit for the Spurs, I can't see how he'd fit for the Rockets.

Re: Spurs-Rockets
Murray only has 2 years left under contract, those picks would need to be top 2 or 3 protected for the deal to work value-wise IMO.
Murray has serious talent but I just don't understand the path to winning with a ball-dominant player who is not an efficient scorer or natural shooter. Murray is about to be 26 and despite having a career year of offensive efficiency last season, he was still 3+% below the league average TS and EFG.
Despite it being appetizing to have an elite passer and defender out there with Green and Smith, the shooting efficiency, contract situation would make me pass, I'd rather continue to kick the tires on 22 year old KPJ and keep the picks.

I like Murray, but we need to tank one more year and we really need to see what these picks are actually going to be.
Brooklyn is a real question mark.
And why is SA trying to trade Murray again?

Proper asset management for a team not ready to commit to a core that isn't good enough, 2 years left on his cheap contract, will be demanding a huge new contract at 28 years old, is an inefficient and flawed player offensively.
