He is playing like a Top 10 player in the league. That player always has a ton of value--regardless of contract.

He's averaging 28 points per game, shooting basically 46% from the field, 40% from the 3pt line, 7 assist per game, while also having the Blazers in the top 4 seed in the West, ahead of Teams like the Clippers, Suns, Warriors, and Timberwolves. Even given the risk that his contract could become a net negative down the road, the risk is worth if that means that team gets a top 10-15 player in the NBA right now.

What's up with the Anthony Edwards love? When I compare him to Anfernee Simons(whom I wouldn't expect to make the top 25 list FWIW), Edwards is basically a less efficent guy who turns the ball over a lot and isn't exactly a plus defender or a guy who wins games. What gives?

Anthony Edwards has superstar potential, Anfernee Simons doesn't.

Anthony Edwards is significantly stronger, which has already shown a great attribute in his ability to finish around the rim similar to a young Michael Jordan with a combination of strength, hang-time and agility.

Anthony Edwards is a significantly better defender, especially man-to-man. When Edwards is locked in, like he was against Memphis last year, he made Ja Morant nearly hopeless in driving to the rim and Ja couldn't get into the paint.

Anfernee Simons is over 2 years older than ANT and has significantly more NBA and basketball experience than Edwards.

Siakam and Brown are in same boat. Great players, maybe even better than some players already making list - but this is a trade value list. Their contract expiring to URFA after next season is value zapper.

Simons won’t make the top 25 list BTW.

We are at 11. With 10 players on voting list. That is 21 already before Simons. Means he would need to be nominated and voted into top 25 soon…before likes of Lillard, James, Brown, Siakam, and others more worthy.
