Nets deciding they have seen enough to have him not worth his all in cost, but also not finding a team to even take him for free. I assume he will be cut if the Nets had to pay someone to take him, fitting a contract this size isn't tough.

Feels like most of the benefit here is accruing to the Nets though, depending on the cash. If they're saving $8m, that's probably worth a second too.

I’d say maybe, but that’s on the Kings to get it done. I’m thinking maybe they scouted Edwards before his draft and see this as a free look at a player they liked.

I enjoy these kinds of trades. I like Edwards a lot.
