Jalen Green's value

Per the wiretap, trading Jalen Green isn't off the table. Typically high picks that start this slow don't develop into high-level All-Stars. That being said the Rockets environment has been a dumpster fire since Harden demanded that trade. What do you guys Green would command on the trade market? Do you see any particularly good fits?

Think developing slow doesn’t mean you won’t reach star status. Most players aren’t on NBA radars at the green age. You have players like brown, kawhi , PG13 , Ingram , etc who wasn’t quite setting the league on fire when they was 20.
I think he will a B + / A caliber prospect who could net a high end vet.

He's a bluechip prospect and I'm still buying his potential. If I'm the Bulls I'm offering Lavine & whatever I can flip DDR for for Green. Yes he's still a work in progress, but he can still grow into a really high-level scorer.

The report is nonsense, already confirmed by our insiders.
We don't even need to go through the exercise because we aren't trading him.

I didn't say never but typically we see more from a guy getting this volume of touches and picked this high. I wouldn't compare him to Kawhi and PG bc they were lower picks w less pressure. Green was handed the keys at 19 and is running it into a ditch, like I said awful situation but I tend to think his ceiling is 3-5x All-Star at this point. I don't see 1st team All-NBA/easy HOFer on the board at all.

I may be putting my head in the sand but I refuse to buy it, unless we're talking about"available for MVP level players" which he just wouldn't return in a trade. Because the slow start his value is probably at a low point (but still pretty high), would be extremely bad asset management.
Also feels worth pointing out the wording was "addressed the idea of trading Jalen Green"
Which could mean absolutely nothing

I want to see what he can do playing next to a real point guard. The Rockets should too if they're smart.

I’m not fully convinced by the report, but for what it is worth, Jalen Green would be the centerpiece in a trade for an All-Star caliber player.

And why do you think those guys didn't get the ball in their hands right away? Do you think they would have done better than Jalen has? Not to say Jalen will be better than those guys at all, but no, they probably would not have

I get Houston fans aren't eager to move him. But if you are committed to bringing Harden back, wouldn't you offer Green in a deal for Jaylen Brown? I'd make him available for Brown in an instant.

The report is Jake Fischer and the language is garbled. Houston shouldn’t be looking at shortcuts imo and they would be taking a bath on Green’s value if they move him now.

No. He's expiring and even if he wasn't a Jaylen Brown - Harden combo is not winning a ring so what's the point of taking a giant shortcut

I'm very low on Jalen Green. However teams will still view Jalen Green as a future all star. They would view his time with the Rockets as just him not being surround by veteran players who can mentor him and having a poor coach . So if Green does get traded, he would be apart of huge trade package for a top 15 player in the NBA.

If we draft one of Henderson, Miller, or Thompson AND sign Harden, I might do something centered around Green for Brown (with an agreement to extend)

Would the Rockets do Jalen Green + Jabari Smith for Jaylen Brown?

I have no idea..but I guess the idea of bringing Harden back is as a veteran leader and selfless playmaker who can push the young guys(especially Green) to speed up the rebuilding process..it would be very confusing if they tried to achieve what they could not, with Harden in his Prime ... now that he will be 34 years old next season ... If it were up to me, I wouldn't pitch Green for Brown..in the Houston situation..

Frankly, the situation for the future of Houston seems pretty good to me... I don't understand the pessimism... they had an inexperienced coach, perfect for tanking... 3 promising youngsters with Allstart potential in different positions, their skill set fits perfectly + another High draft pick this year, with a high probability of being a superstar (Scoot/VW) or an ideal fit in Miller or Amen... +Eason/Tate/Garuba..as 2-way roleplayers...Financial flexibility and a good loot of Picks.. They have hired a good coach (until proven otherwise)...if they continue to be the top 3 worst teams in the NBA this year, they should worry...so far they seem to be following a plan... As for OP, I guess MAGIC should be very interested.

Everyone:
Rockets should tank hard for 3 years before they owe a pick to OKC
*Rockets tank hard for 3 years before they owe a pick to OKC*
Some of the same people from above:
What a disaster in Houston

I assume the only reason you trade Green is if Harden is coming, and you need to bring a “win now” player.
I think Harden is just using Houston for leverage in Philly contract talks, but let’s assume this is in play:
Jalen Green for Pascal Siakam
Raps get their 2 guard along with Scottie. Rockets get their PF along with Harden.
