Bucks reunite Dame and CJ, Pels get Brogdon and Brook, Val to Portland

Mid season trade

Milwaukee in McCollum
Milwaukee out BroLo, Connaughton, Beasley, RoLo, 2027 SRP + 2024 FRP swap (MIL get worse own, NOP, GSW)

Pelicans in Brogdon, BroLo, Beasley, RoLo
Pelicans out McCollum, Valanciunas, Lewis, 2030 SRP

Portland in Lewis (TPE), Connaughton, Valanciunas, 2027 MIL and 2030 NOP SRPs + 2024 FRP swap (POR gets better GSW, MIL)
Portland out Brogdon

Why Bucks? They go all in offence with McCollum filling their starting SG hole. I know CJ/Dame combo didn't bring a championship to Portland, but they never had Midds/Giannis type of help. Bucks slide Portis in the starting C spot, with Giannis sharing his time there too with multiple shooters surrounding him. Milwaukee also ducks the 2nd tax apron in this deal and creates some spots for buyout candidates.

Lillard.........Payne
McCollum.....Beauchamp....Green
Middleton.....Jackson........Thanasis
Giannis........Crowder........Livingston
Portis

Why Pelicans? They try better veteran fits for their young core. Brogdon is a pure PG that can run an offence and defend better than CJ, Brook brings also better defence and needed spacing next to Zion than Val. This deal also avoids them the tax.

Brogdon......Daniels......Alvarado
Murphy.......Hawkins.....Beasley
Ingram.......Jones........Marshall
Zion..........Nance.......Liddell
Lopez........Zeller........RoLo

Why Portland? They cash in Brogdon with multiple pieces. They get two SRPs + a likely swap for a start and a look into Lewis to replace Brogdon at the backup PG slot. Connaughton is a familiar face that can soak up mintes at SF where they only have Thybulle. Val replaces injured Williams at backup C and could also be a keeper if they feel like cashing in Ayton at some time too.

Henderson.....Lewis
Sharpe.........Thybulle.........Rupert
Simons.........Connaughton....Walker
Grant..........Camara...........Murray
Ayton..........Valanciunas......Brown......Williams (inj)

No reason for Portland to be involved in this. No way they trade Brogdon for this. Valanciunas makes no sense for Portland. I'd rather hold onto Brogdon, or at least get a real 1st rd pick and asset back. Brogdon has been very good for Portland both on the court and in the locker room. He's more valuable in Portland than this return

Okay, not a bucks fan. But "all in offense"? Because that is what wins championships eh? Clippers are sure showing that doubling down on superstar talented scorers is the way to go. Oh, wait they are 0-5 since bringing in Harden. The bucks are already having a hard time with their defense. Now you want to move the lopez brothers leaving no one behind Portis on the depth chart? Your reasoning is nothing short of a train wreck.

This seems pretty horrible for the Bucks.

And I'm not interested for portland.

Pass for Portland, but I’m more bothered by this for the Bucks. Lopez is a good defensive big that spreads the floor. You don’t give that up, depth, and assets to try Lillard and CJ again.

As a Knicks fan who has your '25 pick I love this trade...

Starting with Bucks: Lopez is such as essential piece of what you guys do. if anyone is expendable it's Middleton. depth is trash and portis is overrated. Dame/CJ doesn't work. Also I am still worried about CJ's collapsed lung, do we even know if he will play again? That sounds terrifying.

Pelicans get a lot better. Lopez would do for Zion what he does for Greek which is provide back-end defense and spacing.
Again CJ is the more medically compromised, though apparently Brogdon is a time-bomb of sorts.

Portland gets a lot of financial junk all for 2 SRP. Not enticing at all.

Brogdon is a great player and doesn't seem to be a locker room cancer despite playing on a bad Blazers team. His value is at least a late 1st, even with his contract and injury concerns. I am and have been the biggest Shaedon Sharpe stan on RealGM, but Brogdon might be the best player on this team RIGHT NOW, depending on how you value Jerami Grant.

Value wise, Jonas Valančiūnas plus two 2nd round picks is fair for a Brogdon trade. It just doesn't make any sense for Portland. The Blazers have Ayton and Timelord in the front court, and Jonas Valančiūnas is 31 years old. So route Jonas Valančiūnas and two 2nds to a win now team, route back a protected 1st and an expiring contract to Portland, and then this makes more sense from the Portland side.

POR does not have Williams. He is out for the year.

Hate to be the RealGM poster to break this to you, but the Blazers aren't contending this year.

Contending for worst record maybe.
