Is Kyrie still worth an FRP? He was just paid top dollar in offseason and his efficiency has taken a drop since then.

I also think Lakers look to tank in 27-28 season onwards.. so an FRP offer in 2029 seems like something they may not risk.

I suspect a Lakers deal would offer DLo+Rui and the extra value might be JHS (recent #17) and Christie.

Even with the reality that Dallas may not have leverage, zero reason to do this. D Lo sucks, and Rui is decent but nothing too special

What is he worth? Great question. But in these types of deals there is usually something face-saving for the team trading the distressed star. Maybe that is young players as opposed to a pick, no idea. But I don't have his value as high and the pick might be as much for taking back players Dallas really doesn't want (Russell/Rui), you know?

Conversely, Dallas has him locked up and doesn’t need to trade him. I would say Reeves or a 1st is likely needed.

Shams says Boston likely to look for a depth guy. Who's got a cheap-ish guy who could play in the top-10 rotation for a playoff team?

Boston likely to trade at least one of their 2024 first or the 2024 Chicago second they have, and use either their TPE or some bench fillers to bring someone in.

Yea Chuck brought up a great point if he asks out of course that distresses his value. I'm trying to get ahead of that and trade him as soon as the restrictions are up

Feel like Tate could fit as a target, with Brooks, Eason + Thompson/Whitmore seems like it could make sense to move him for draft capital

Continuing from the other thread, I think Dlo is a better player than Dinnwidie(PER, vorp, BPM, ws/48), and 3 year younger, locked on a friendly deal. DFS is better than Rui but not by much, and the Laker player is 5 year younger. So, I dont think we are too far from what you paid(a 1st?).

I think Dallas was expecting another synergie from Doncic and Irving duo. But from what you saw until now.

Is this team worst than what you have now? You would have a lower ceiling, for sure, but when you add the Day to Day operation? Not having to worry with Irving?

Oh yeah its meaningfully worse. Kyrie can still take over games offensively. Russell and Rui are good, but far from great offensive players who offer nothing defensively. This makes Dallas 100% Luka reliant to create everything. Russell, THJ, Hardy, Rui trying to be your 2nd best offensive player is really really rough. And its not like Dallas is a defensive juggernaut.

I think an LA trade is still reasonably likely, but make no mistake Dallas suffers for it.
