The top 3 was pretty obvious, I was surprised by the Draymond pick but I guess I can talk myself into it based on him being persona non grata. The one I disagree with is probably LaVine, I think someone might give slight positive value for him in like a month.

I agree I think Ayton should be on the list over Lavine.
Lavine is certainly overpaid but Ayton is more overpaid both proportionally and in total money per year.
Ayton is getting an average of $34m per year when it should really be $17m in line with other average starting centers.
Lavine is making $44m but I don’t think anyone would be complaining if it was $34m. He’s certainly an All-Star reserve caliber player.

Weird. I would never trade Draymond for Collins or Ayton.

If you were golden state sure. If you were another team chances are collins or Ayton is more preferable/less likely to blow up in your face than draymond though. much younger too.

I do think Draymond has the most value to their current team for sure. And if Draymond said he wanted to play for X team he likely has more trade value than Ayton or Collins but Draymond is for sure a difficult culture fit for a lot of teams. For GS I wouldn't never trade Draymond for either guy for sure, but on the flip side if I was Utah or Portland I wouldn't flip Collins or Ayton for Dray with the the indention of keeping and playing either, so it would have to be a 3 way of some sort.
So I think these list have to really reflect how the team holding the player values him even if he has very little trade value if placed in a trade. Draymond likely would lead the list of players most valued to their current team and likely least valued on the trade market. But I do think there would be a few teams that would take Dray and he would accept that pushes his trade value above those guys.

Yeah, so any winning team prefers Draymond, and rebuilding team prefers the lesser impact player.
I think there are at least 20 teams truly trying to win this year, and I would be shocked if any preferred Ayton or Collins to Draymond.

Think there is a big difference between worst contract and worst tradevalue

Respectfully, people are completely lost in the sauce for not having Lonzo Ball in the top five. Just super silly, plenty of teams would gamble on Draymond Green for an expiring contract, and we are probably going to see Zach LaVine be traded for neutral value literally this season.

Does anyone really believe that Dray gets his [excrement] together, that his sociopathy has been miraculously cured in a matter of weeks? I think he remains a ticking time bomb; how many FOs feel the same? There’s a strong argument to be made that Draymond’s next suspension may be for a long time, if not forever — a full season or a lifetime ban. Even without the unhinged, violent outbursts (and the potential future consequences that go along with them) how many teams think that his potential positive value on the court overcomes the negative impact he would bring?
That said, it only takes one trading partner to think differently.

I was amused with last year’s photos because they all looked sad, because none were playing well.
However, seeing five smiling faces this year is probably more realistic. A “bad contract” to us, means an overpaid deal for them!

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but came across this interesting tweet today:
Seems like the consensus was right on a lot of these names!
