The Bulls don't sell or buy, they hold
The Pistons are buyers, not sellers
The Pelicans trade Zion Williamson

Kings trade Keegan Murray in a deal that lands them Mikal Bridges.

They already made a buyer trade. This isn't a hot take.

I actually like this one... these kind of things happen fast and I can see Trae seeing the general direction of Atlanta and asking out.

Atlanta isn't dumping Hunter with a pick in the teens.

It's a hot take for a reason. The Hawks might just decide to blow everything up and that's the salary they need to get off. A lot of variance with that pick. Might not even convey this year if the Kings continue to fall, or more likely they push back into the top 5-6.

It is a hot take because teams don't trade 1sts with a productive [albeit slightly overpaid] player for dead expiring salary.
Maybe in 2015, but teams are far too smart and good to do this type of trade.

Yet you think the Lakerscan get Murray and Lavine.

Doncic asks to be traded.

I don't think LaVine has real value. I think Reaves/JHS/Unprotected 1st can get Murray, yeah.
But the difference here is I may be valuing a player differently than you while you are proposing a deal in which teams simply don't do. Teams don't use decent 1sts to dump decent players.

You can't honestly think the Bulls are taking back DLO/Rui or any combination of their bad contracts. I don't think Lavine has value either, but whatever the Lakers can scratch together needs incentives attached. And with no 1sts to trade it's going to be hard to get the Bulls on board with it.

I don't have Rui or Dlo as bad contracts. Their production matches their pay.

Re: 2024 Trade Deadline Hot Takes
No more major moves for this trade deadline . Atlanta/New Jersey/Chicago all not selling this trade deadline anything that’s getting the superstar package (minimum of 2 first and 2 swaps)
A lot of 2024 first rounder(>5)will be traded instead as playoff teams don’t value the first rounders and believe they can buy back into the second round if needed.
Major buyer if any is Orlando.
