Grizzlies/Cavs Vakue Assessment

How far off is this proposal?
Cavs trade Allen/Okoro
Grizzlies trade Triple-J.
On paper it comes out ahead for the Grizzlies by a game.
In appearance, I think the Cavs are getting the better deal.
Reasoning: JJJ can float between center And PF defense/offense. And gives a better running mate for Mobley.
Provides Grizzlies with a missing part in Okoro and returns a defensive center who can score near the basket.

Huge gap, and Okoro doesn't even come into the equation to bridge the value.

So what makes the offer acceptable or are you saying there is no right move?

I have the Grizzlies passing. They'd want more value, Smart/Okoro probably can't coexist in the same unit, and Okoro's status as a RFA means they're adding salary they really can't spare. Also, this season is a wash for the Grizzlies so the only reason they do it now is if the don't like what they see from JJJ without Adams next to him.
The Cavs would probably want to wait until the summer. It sound like the front office is very much in if it's not broke, don't fix it territory.
Personally, I think JJJ's reputation as a floor spacer is pretty inflated. His career average from 3 point range is 34%, he's shooting 31% this season, and he's never had a season where he's shot league average from 3. That coupled with JJJ's propensity to get into foul trouble makes me hesitant.

I don't really see a trade that the Cavs are willing to make that Memphis would accept. JJJ is our most valuable player and is expanding his offensive game. Memphis fans are thrilled with what we are seeing and cannot wait to see him next year surrounding by a legit team again.

Could Wolves jump in here? Don’t Cavs need more legit shooting?
To Cavs: Towns
To Wolves: JJJ
To Grizzlies: Allen
Some filler players needed of course - but main dish detailed above.
JJJ and Gobert aren’t ideal (but work enough), add Reid in the mix and it works. Wolves should see Reid | JJJ as their longterm bigman solution.
Cavs pair Towns and Mobley.

Would you trade Mobley for Clarke, Aldama and Smart? The answer would give you a taste of Memphis’ perspective on your trade idea.
And this violates the board policy against unreasonable counters. The OP is a miss, but an honest one. Yours is intentionally baiting and derailing. And we've talked about this too many times.

What??? It was just an analogy for the sake of showcasing the difference! You gotta be kidding me. This is sick. Ban me. You dreamt about it.

Dude if I wanted to ban you, I would have done it the day you showed up with your alt account after your first one was banned. But instead I've let you continue to post because its clear you enjoy it. And I've tried over and over to help you remember we just have a few rules to follow. You are making the decision to violate the rules.
You aren't being targeted. You just violated a policy. That's it. If you don't want to post here because you are asked to follow a few simple rules, that's your choice. It doesn't require a ban lol.
PM me with any more questions about this, but mostly just read the sticky at the top and its pretty clear what's not allowed.

I think the Cavs would owe either picks or additional players from a value standpoint.

I think JJJ is greater value than Mobley. But I also think Allen is worth more than Mobley.
A lot of Mobley’s value is what he COULD be rather than what he currently is.

I'd rather have Allen at $20M per than KAT on a vet max deal.

Same here.
If most feel JJJ = Mobley, if I were Cleveland I would offer Mobley, LaVert, and Rubio (contract) for JJJ.

Rubio got bought out and the Cavs aren't going to trade Mobley, at least not before the deadline. If Mitchell extends, and the Cavs do decide to split up Allen and Mobley next summer, then my first two calls would be to OKC and N.O. Neither JJJ nor Mikal Bridges would be my primary targets. We're pretty far down the road into fantasy land at that point though.

I have no doubt the Cavs aren’t trading Mobley for JJJ.

I’ll make it clear Jaren is untouchable for us. Outside of a top ten player he is not being traded. Neither Mobley, Allen or Kat have his value to the Grizz considering age, contract and ability. We refused to send him in packages for Durant for a reason.

Allen and JJJ are both really underpaid the next two years. But Allen isn’t worth JJJ. And with Cleveland’s pick situation, the only real way to fix it is building the deal off of a different Cleveland bid.

I’d certainly trade Allen for Towns. Towns would be a great fit next to Mobley.
