Nets Trade- Dorian Finney-Smith
Nets Get- Jalen Hood-Schifino
Lakers Trade- JHS, 2025 2nd, 2027 2nd
Lakers Get- DFS
Hornets Trade- Cody Martin
Hornets Get- Gabe Vincent, 2025 LAL 2nd
Blazers Trade- Nothing
Blazers Get- 2027 LAL 2nd, Cody Martin (Absorbed into GP3 trade exception before 2/9)
Nets move DFS for a recent 1st round pick who is a 6’6 defensive minded PG and could hypothetically be a great fit next to Cam Thomas. A modest but quality return for DFS.
Lakers add DFS to replace Jared Vanderbilt while preserving their future 1st rounders.
Hornets get a 2nd for turning Cody Martin’s 2 year deal into Gabe Vincent’s 3 year deal.
Blazers use their trade exception before it expires to get a 2nd for absorbing Cody Martin. They can then attempt to rebuild his value and move him in the offseason.

Can’t see Hornets doing that. They’re probably asking for a late first in the swap, at some point seconds aren’t enough..
The rest is fine but probably falls apart without dumping Vincent on someone.

Need to fix the in/out.
I have this too good for the Lakers though. I don't have 2 2nds enough to dump Vincent and only if the Nets are high on JHS should he be enough for DFS.
Don't like this for Charlotte or Portland at all, especially Charlotte. Seems terrible value.

Yeah not a fan of this for any of these teams outside of the Lakers.

Nets will be looking for a better return for DFS and don’t need to trade him anyway

I'd charge a pick swap in 2026 or 2028 to take on Vincent. not opposed to the idea but there needs to be potential value there.

I don’t think Cody Martin is worth his contract and a single 2nd isn’t enough compensation to absorb him for Portland.

Yeah, I don't see the Blazers going into the luxury tax for a future second which this would do. Now if Portland were to do this as a follow up trade where they reduced salary enough that it wouldn't put them into the luxury tax it might have legs since Martin could be used as salary matching in a summer trade since he would essentially be an expiring.

The deal LA should look at is JHS+Gabe+'29 FRP (w some protection) for DFS.
For LA, it's a lighter version of the Murray-offer. And honestly D'Lo+DFS > Murray (in my opinion).
Fro Brooklyn, they get essentially 2 FRP in JHS and 29, plus a rotation guy that'll work both on the floor and as a trade chip.

This would be more fair for the Nets than the first offer. But, they might prefer no JHS and just another pick depending on the scouting team’s preference. If the Lakers understand that (which they should) then there might be a chance at a deal like this.

This is better for Brooklyn.
Lakers could definitely get Dennis Smith Jr or Trenton Watford as well if they’re willing to give up the ‘29 1st.

I doubt Brooklyn wants Gabe's contract.

I don’t think anyone wants it.
But if Brooklyn is getting JHS and the Lakers 1st I think it’s worth it.
His $11 million in ‘25-26 should be cheap to dump if necessary.

No Portland is not going into the luxury tax this year and taking on ugly salary for a scrub next year for a second round pick
