Golden State
Klay Thompson & 1 1st Rd Pick (2026 with light protections)
For
Jerami Grant, Paul Reed & Mathyse Thybulle
GS pulls a LAL-Russ type heist with their massive expiring - adding a protected 1st not too far out to bring in 3 guys with size and more importantly talent to support Steph all over the floor
Green / Reed
Kuminga / Saric
Grant / Wiggins
Thybulle / Podziemski
Curry / Paul
Philadelphia
Paul Reed, Marcus Morris Sr, Robert Covington, Danuel House Jr
& 2 2nds (of PORs choice)
For
Klay Thompson
Philly jumps in to save Klay from the rebuilding Blazers, and hopefully keep him happy til negotiation time this summer. No doubt would be a solid fit around their stars, and as little a risk as you can take for $40 million
Embiid / Bamba
Batum / Martin
Harris / Korkmaz
Thompson / Melton
Maxey / Beverley
Portland
Jerami Grant & Mathyse Thybulle
For
Marcus Morris Sr, Robert Covington, Danuel House Jr 2026 1st via GSW &
2 future 2nds via PHI
The Blazers simply dump Grant for expiring contracts and a chance to get lucky with some picks

Value is right for POR but you gotta keep in mind they have gsw's first this year. Helping them hurts that pick, which is currently in the lottery.
I think if it was any other team then this would be good, but alas...

DOA.
POR sends out talent for scrubs and late picks. POR is not doing anything to make GSW a better team this year especially for this.

Not a huge fan personally for Philly, as I think Klay is pretty washed, and personally I would rather add Grant, though our FO is not publicly interested in adding future money.

I disagree. Value for Portland is a bit weak. I wouldn't be pissed with the return... but it's definitely not good.
Also, the value for Philly is really poor.
Only the Warriors do this trade. They're stealing a LOT of value

I would take this deal like many fans who are down on Klay but I doubt GS management pulls the trigger

This looks great for Golden State, I'm on board. Those 3 players could really help, all at the right times in careers.
It seems too good.

Value is ok for Portland, but we have no incentive to make GSW better this year. And Grant is a big upgrade over Klay, given how poor Klay has been.

Ya - as other Blazer fans have said I would value GSW stinking and getting a higher pick this year moreso than any of the assets we get in this trade.

Re: Splash Bro to the City of Brotherly Love (with the Blazers)
I have this as a clear no for Philly.
They get further into the tax to finish the season with no centers ? The team would do worse all in, and gave up assets and paid more tax to do so. And goes from having a good player in Reed under contract to no one under contract next season. Just a no.
