Miami - Brooklyn

Miami in: DSJ, Cam Johnson, 2025 Heat SRP
Miami out: Tyler Herro, Thomas Bryant
Brooklyn in: Tyler Herro, Thomas Bryant
Brooklyn out: DSJ, Cam Johnson, 2025 Heat SRP
Why for Miami: Getting a PF with size and shooting ability and a Heat-type back-up PG
Why for Brooklyn: Already have plenty of forwards. He will help the Nets with scoring and shooting. Herro is still 23 and could be better with the Nets.

I don't think Brooklyn gives up Cam Johnson for Tyler Herro

Is Heat trading their 20ppg with high efficience player for a PF that can't rebound?

This is interesting.

This is somewhat interesting, but I don't think the Heat need both DFS and Cam Johnson.
I think a more likely version of this trade would be Herro for DFS and say the PHX 2025 1st, with the PHX 2025 flipped for a different win now piece going to Miami.

I suspect the Nets are unlikely to agree with that evaluation of Herro's value.

Highly efficient? lol. Miami is a better team without Herro. He is incompatible with Rozier and negatively affects JJJ. He needs to be traded now.

.
It's DSJ, not DFS. That's why we need to embrace Ferrari Doe.

Holy crap, looking at advanced stats, herro has been underperforming definitely, looking quickly at his %s thought that he was doing better than that this year. He has an league average true shooting.
Worst TS% SG with at least 19ppg

Barret and Cam thomas over him

He is the player with the most three-point attempts after Curry and Doncic. Has difficulty scoring without a screen. While he is in the game, we have to play a completely different game. He destroys defense and teams are targeting him in the playoffs. It's clear he's no longer a benefit to the Heat.

I prefer Herro and the 2024 FRP for DFS, O’Neal and the the 2025 Phx pick.
Heat get the PF they need and save some cash for next season with Oneal and the pick swap.

The only reason to Herro is to get under the tax, this season or next, but I don't really think that's happening. Herro is much maligned here. I get it. Good luck trying to get him from Miami though... he's one of the only guys we have who can take a big shot. The others are Butler and Bam. That's it.

Brooklyn probably isn’t adding positive incentive to any Herro deal, especially with DFS and O’Neale outgoing.
Most teams are probably down on Herro, and there was room temperature interest at best on him this summer and things certainly haven’t improved.

whether it's Cam Johnson or DFS, Herro does make some sense. I would think the Heat would prefer a combination of DFS and Din over Cam Johnson though. Doubt Brooklyn would add a pick in any iteration.

Maligned? lol. You are talking nonsense. His big shots haven't worked in any playoff series other than the 2020 ECF. If Herro's big shots had worked, we wouldn't be one of the top 5 worst offenses in the league. How many times do we need to prove that we are a much better team without him?

BKN wouldn’t do that when we already have Cam T and Sharpe
Both are equally as good & cheaper than Herro/Bryant

I could equally make the case that we really needed Herro against the Nuggets last season. The team is better when Spo has options. Anyway, I'm happy to see what we can bring in the postseason with our group, although (as I said) getting under the tax would have been nice.
