Great deal for Philly. And everyone was right when they told me yesterday Indy would just take the 2nds rather than flipping them for win now help. So kudos to a bunch of guys on that.

Solid move for Philly. Upgrade their roster and save money in the process while maintaining their future flexibility with cap space and 1st rd picks

I feel like keeping Hield for the playoff push instead of sending him to a conference contender would have been the better way to go, no?

Great deal for Philly IMO. You can never have too many shooters around guys like Maxey and Embiid and Hield is an elite shooter.

great for Philly's playoff push. they give up a whole bunch of nothing, i'm pretty sure the Sixers only have really late 2nds right?

Think he wore out his welcome in Indiana. He's got a 2 year shelf life before he stops giving effort.

So the big cap space plan involved … Hield?

I have Philly a little over 1m over the lux tax still so expect another move. And if max cap space is out I would expect a second decent move personally but maybe it will just be a small dump…

Torontos this year.

Portland and Lac in the future

Isn't Buddy's deal up after this season?

I think both teams did well, but I like it more for Philly.

They kept all their powder dry for this summer, kept all their firsts and improved.

ah you're right that's a quality 2nd. still if he helps swing a playoff game, it's all worth it

Hield makes the team better in the short term, comes at a cheap cost, and doesn't hurt long term flexibility.

This isn't a bad move.

There aren’t many players likely better than renouncing Buddy, Harris, and Melton (and others)..

So think the FA dream is done. But I like the deal for Philly obviously. If they can go find a 20-25mpg center that makes a million less than House (Drummond..) it’ll be a nice deadline for the team considering Joel.

Indy should have a follow up deal ready. They’re actually really good and should be trying to go on a run.

Buddy wanted out to somewhere he could project to start. He had been losing minutes to Nembhard, Mathurin, Nesmith, and now Ben Sheppard. If Indy gets the Toronto 2nd, I think it’s a fine enough trade.

Look for Morris to be flipped with the other 2 2nds or waived. This spot would then go to James Johnson or Gordon Hayward, if he secures a buyout. Indy still has their full room exception.

Indiana has strategically placed their most huntable player on a potential playoff opponent. Pritchard is playing 5D chess.

Like it for both, although I'm surprised that Philly left itself over the luxury tax line

Seems ok, Hield was losing out minutes to our slew of younger guys, he was almost certainly not re-signing, so we grab a few seconds for him on his way out, send him somewhere he can start.

I only worry a little about the chemistry, Hali is tight with Hield; there was the famous Danny Granger for Evan Turner trade that ruined the Pacers chemistry a few year back; Granger was the veteran leader that everyone loved
