5-Team Off-Season Blockbuster - Dame to Miami / Dejounte to Milwaukee / Herro to Orlando / Middleton to Atlanta

Atlanta Hawks get:
Khris Middleton
The draft rights to 2024 Miami Heat First Round Pick
2030 Unprotected Miami Heat First Round Pick
-Gives: Dejounte Murray and Bogdan Bogdanovic
Why: The Hawks save some money, add a nice fitting veteran and 2 first rounders to retool around their young core.
===
Miami Heat get:
Damian Lillard
-Gives: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, '24 1st and '30 1st
Why: The Heat finally get Dame Lillard who doesn't feel like a fit in Milwaukee. In the process they lose two first rounders and 2 useful vets, but the upgrade to Lillard is worth it.
===
Milwaukee Bucks get:
Dejounte Murray
Jerami Grant
Bogdan Bogdanovic
-Gives: Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton
Why: They pivot to building a bit of a deeper team around Giannis that can also defend. The new Bucks line-up would be very complimentary.
===
Orlando Magic get:
Tyler Herro
-Gives: Lower of 2025 Magic/Nuggets First Round Pick
Why: Herro is better than anything realistically in free agency so the Magic use a chunk of their cap space and what should be a low first to get him.
===
Portland Trail Blazers get:
Duncan Robinson
Lower of 2025 Magic/Nuggets First Round Pick
-Gives: Jerami Grant
Why: They get out of the tax and add a first rounder while saving long-term as well. Duncan Robinson could be a nice fit to spread the floor for their young guys too.

There's no way Miami is giving up an unprotected '30 pick for Dame at this juncture. Dame is still Dame but he's already starting to fall off just a tad and those last 2 years on the deal are huge. They are also stuck with Rozier after this deal, which is not an ideal mix with Dame.

At first glance yes PORT likes the Magic pick even though they could get the missing piece, Herro?, and it might be 22+ and they get off Grant's longer deal leaving the PF spot to Murray. But I don't see them with the guards they have Simons, Brogdan, Thybulle, Henderson and Sharpe wanting to add Robinson. Who are they sitting to have Robinson get any time to spread the floor?

I like the fit for the Bucks, but think they need to be getting more value back for Dame and Middleton

I’d keep Duncan and use Terry as the salary slot here. But my feelings are known on Terry..
And the pick should be the 2029, not the 2030 IMO.
Milwaukee gets a few years younger, but a lot less talented. I don’t think Milwaukee wants DJM to be their second best player. It just is too big a drop IMO.
If you really want to turn Midds into Grant, you can probably do so with the 2024 first and a third team that believes a bit in Midds..
Portland is getting a contract they don’t want a bad first here.. not much value to match in a smaller trade.. I don’t know how to value Midds, but I think you could send him to a third team with the 2024 first and get a smaller contract and a future first to Portland?
Not too sure.

Zero interest from POR to downgrade for a weak pick.
Cut us out.

I don't see Atlanta giving up both Murray and Bogi for that return. They already likely have 2 picks in this draft so a 3rd in a weak draft and a future isn't that tempting.

Heat pass. We already did this dance last season. One season later and it's an even worse deal.

Yeah, I agree. That ship has sailed. I don't see us giving up that kind of value for Dame at this point.

I can't imagine how upset I'd be if I logged on here to find out the Bucks had made that trade.
Let's for argument/simplicity/generosity sake that Bogi = Mids, you'd never split Giannis's clear best ever teammate for a couple of decent starters. It's like Murray is somehow Jason Kidd or something. Also don't see how this makes us a team that can defend. We get a guy living off a rep never earned and a couple of weak defenders?

I don't know how you can argue it's not a significant upgrade defensively:
Murray >>>> Dame
Bogdan >> Beasley (and Bogdan isn't even that great)
Grant >> Middleton
Giannis = Giannis
Lopez = Lopez
You'd be upgrading every single position from 1-3 defensively. Murray and Grant can absolutely be cogs in a good/great defense. Bogi isn't anything to write home about but he's better than Beasley and equal to Middleton.
Regardless of whether Middleton is Giannis' best ever teammate, the arrow is trending down on him.

Absolute trash return for breaking up a contending Bucks core in order to do what exactly? They're the 6th best defense in the league since Adrian Griffin was fired. And they're not even getting the outgoing Miami picks for their trouble? Just massively downgrading the offense for a couple slightly younger guys that casual fans think will fix a defense that's already been fixed? Lol, no.

HEAT respectfully pass on this offer. My opinion on Dame has always been that I respect him and his game but don't want him on the HEAT at this stage of his career with that massive contract.

Love it for ORL...not likely with any of the others. MIL would have jumped a year ago but...
POR and ATL not getting fair deals imo.

No chance that's all it takes to get Herro, but sure sign me up!

The Heat pass!
Herro, Duncan and the picks have a lot of value for Miami. It will take more than just Lillard for those assets and DAme has a fat contract, and age is a factor also. Rozier is getting there for us at PG.
A nice deal for the Magic!
