What kind of offer could the Blazers receive for J.Grant this offseason?

As a Mavs fan I would be very interested and I think it could be a piece that takes us to the next level. It'd be enough..

THJ (to a 3 team for a couple of SRP or maybe someone takes him to space)+O-Max+Powell+Dallas 26 unprotected..

No thanks from POR.

Not looking for this kind of return in a Grant deal.

Have no problem moving him but want real value.

You see an unprotected 1st for a non all-star on a huge neutral contract as underwhelming?

What are you expecting?

Did you miss the unprotected 1st? I think you just are on auto reject mode.

An unprotected FRP on a team with a young top 5 player in mvp conversation is not the great asset you’d like to believe it is.

There’s a chance the bottom falls out in DAL and it ends up great. More likely it’s the 22nd pick in 2 years and players we don’t want/need.

I think the 22nd pick would be a pretty great return.

Wasn't Grant worth an OK 1st when he was last traded before his big extension?

Is Portland trying to compete? If so, maybe trading the young guys makes more sense if you're adamant on keeping the vets.

If this is the best offer, POR should just keep him.

You're delusional if you think Grant has any value, it's an albatross contract and Portland would jump at the chance at unprotected first.

Toronto can use him, if they want to start winning next season. The offer is:

Bruce Brown + ‘26 IND 1st

Bruce Brown is expiring. He can also be re-traded to a contender for a future late 1st / 2 early 2nds.

This is basically the ceiling for what a Grant value should look like IMO. We all know that he can play, but his stats are inflated on a losing team.

Quickley / ?
Barrett / Trent / Ochai
Grant / Gradey
Scottie / Boucher?
Poeltl / Olynyk

+ 2024 #18 and #31 pick
+ MLE

A first round playoff team at least, with a chance to grow in the following year.

…and yet it always other fanbases trying to acquire Grant, not POR fans trying to get rid of him.

I am not a fan of the contract either but POR isn’t donating a solid (if flawed) stater for a bench guy we don’t want, an uninteresting prospect, a bad contract and a late pick.

You can stack Crap as high as you like, doesn’t make it smell any better.

Giants more interested in getting a lot of shots than winning.

That contract is the problem for me, he's an ok player, putting up numbers on a bad team. I don't know if he is worth a #1 but getting out of that deal and getting a #1 pick rates as pretty good return.

POR disagrees so a Blazer he remains for now.

I'd rather take the Dallas deal over this Toronto one.

I have no idea why Toronto would consider this either honestly. Make zero sense to add value for a guy like Grant that does nothing for them in the short or more importantly long term.

Portland would absolutely agree in an instant, it's just you who has these delusions of Grant having any positive value.
