Memphis sends #7 2024 to Brooklyn for two unprotected FRPs 2029 (via DAL, PHX).

The Nets get a starting pointguard in say Rob Dillingham.

As for the Grizzlies, given they are cutrently in a contending mode with a complete roster, they may decide to convert its current asset into future assets that can be used down the road for roster improvements. The Grizzlies wouldn’t want to repeat the Warriors mistakes with their top picks where kids didn’t have proper room for development.

That´s an interesting and out-of-the-box concept for Memphis. With the rise of Vince and GG I would do it. Don´t know if Bkn would though

No but he will have more effect on winning then trading the pick away. Also, I want to trade the pick for an established player.

What effect? And what 2024 prospect reminds you of an established player who can make impact in PO battles?

This is interesting and fair, ultimately a no from Brooklyn. Our front office is operating as if they have the lead guard spot figured out long term, which I can tell you is not currently in the building. Whether they are tripping balls or not, I have no clue. But they're not going to deviate and short-sell their future investments to fill an immediate need.

I think 2029 is too far out, but I like the idea for Memphis.

If Memphis doesn’t love this draft and feels like they don’t want to start the rookie clock this season, trade the picks for 2025 and 2026 firsts and get help once the tax kicks in. It’s a good idea considering how limiting the CBA has become on tax teams

I think you could look at Golden State and see a rookie making a positive impact this season, and Kuminga started to show out.. or you could look at Miami and their rookie.. Or Cason Wallace..

Just need to not mess up and draft Wiseman really..

For Brooklyn, I like the idea. They would still have the necessary draft capital to trade for a star but without their picks adding lottery talent is a win.

As an outsider, I’d like it better as DFS, one first and a swap or something.

I am sorry brother. We seem fully aligned then. You can use 2 future FRPs exactly for that purpose any time down the road.

True. But all 3 guys they drafted were consensus picks. Sometimes you just don’t know the exact trajectory of growth. I am afraid that the team cannot dedicate sufficient resources and attention to rookies when the team is in a contending mode.

I don’t know. But whatever small chance for development was there, it should have been taken. This kid looks like he needed to be taught basic understanding of basketball before learning how to play pnr with Curry. I could be wrong, but raw prospects require patience, time, and room for learning through mistakes - that’s for sure. For example, Sarr has no developed offence yet and Memphis might not be able to find a good role for him next season.
