Seems solid enough. He’s been pretty good and at that number won’t be too overpaid as a backup big. Keeps him out of a market with potentially big offers and bolsters the return from the Jazz trade.

Good signing. There's a lot of teams that would covet a solid big with range this offseason. This was always happening though. No way Toronto gives up a first for him without a wink wink he was keen to re-sign.

Watch him be traded into someone's MLE this summer... 
But really, this is fine. MLE-ish money on a fine enough 3rd big type player is fine. And it kind of makes their trading a pick for him and Agbaji make more sense. Good for him. Good for Toronto. Meh?

Can you trade into the MLE? I don’t ever recall seeing that happen.

Yup. It's a new rule in the CBA that allows it starting this upcoming offseason.
