Lakers after a stretch 4 or 5

Lakers are likely in the market for a stretch 4/5.

They have Rui (17m) or Vando (11m) with Gabe (11m) to use as salary ballast and they have LAL24/25FRP, LAL29FRP, LAL31FRP..

Who could they get?

Playoff rotation:
DLo, Reaves, LeBron, Davis, Stretch 4/5
Dinwiddie, Reddish, Prince, Rui/Vando

Wonder what it’d take to get Nikola Vucevic.

Gabe+Vando or Rui probably gets you there

no reason for Bull to do that...they create a hole at center and add another salary at guard with AC/White/Ayo/Lavine/Carter/Lonzo....

Rui and Gabe for John Collins? Utah might even throw in a couple 2nds. I doubt the lakers would want Collins' salary on the books though

You would think LAL would plug Vucevic at C which keeps AD at the 4 and both of them can play inside or out.

Toss names out, I don't know if the Bulls see Hachimura signed for as long as he is and they sure don't need any more guards.

I'm in the small minority that would like to get John Collins, make it 3 way deal so UT gets some Laker players and salary.

The Bulls could resign Andre Drummond and pick up Jaxson Hayes, Mo Bamba, Mo Wagner and/or somebody else to back him up.

Collins makes a lot of sense. He has been solid for us and I think is a better fit with the Lakers. Obviously paid more than his production. Collins + 2nds for Gabe + whatever filler LA prefers seems fine.

There are also a good selection of bigs in this year's draft that Chicago could get to replace Vucevic's role, allowing for some extra flexibility in a trade like this. Just a thought :)

Lakers will be able to trade 3 firsts this summer.

Lauri Markannen will be wanting a new contract. And a max contract at that.

Danny Ainge loves first round picks.

Doesn't really align with the star hunting typically associated with the LAL but this would actually make a lot of sense. AD & co. love the guy and he's locked into a descending contract. They could stagger him with and without AD/LeBron to carry the bench

Don't see it happening but I like the fit.

Lauri is getting renegotiated and extended whether he is traded or not. People need to give up on the idea that he will be traded in the summer because it does not make financial sense for him, and it doesn't make sense on value for us.

You're certainly more plugged into the Jazz than I. As an outsider I imagine Lauri will want a 5-year max. I have no idea what Utah's appetitive for that is - perhaps it's very simple and they'll just happily sign him to that and everyone will be happy.

Lauri was just a name that came to mind when seeing the post topic.

We have the ability to increase his salary pretty dramatically next year while also extending him. In effect, that means we can give him the same amount of money he would make in 'x' amount of years (including next year) on a lower annual salary because we can spread it over that extra year. Or we can increase that year to his max + give a max extension. There are lots of options, and I think he's easily worth max money. Normally the advantage teams can offer in terms of money is large but not overwhelmingly so, but that is not the case if you have an R+E available!

Lakers need a 260-280 lb center akin to 2020 Dwight Howard that will rebound the **** out of the ball and not be a huge defensive liability

Wish we got in for Steven Adams but the Rockets punted on the season and moved first

I really hope Pelinka moves for Edy Tavares from Real Madrid

Maybe go all in on Caruso/DeRozan/Drummond?

Only interested in Caruso, and not for what Chicago was demanding

Drummond's a huge defensive liability, he rebounds and does nothing else

Multi-team deal...

KD to the Lakers
One of Russell, Vanderbilt, Rui or Vincent to a cap space team
The other 3 guys plus JHS and all 3 Lakers picks unprotected plus all the Lakers swaps to Phoenix
