Commercial challenge...the Bulls are buyers

I understand that they are expected to be sellers, it seems logical...but the deadline passed and they did nothing, with the consequent loss of value of their assets...AC will only have one more year of contract, DDR and Dru are FA, and Vucevic is not getting any younger etc etc.. So in this scenario, how could the Bulls improve for next season? Who is the best player/Fit they could get?..
with Caruso/Lavine/DDR(ST)/Vuc/Ayo/White/Lonzo expiring.. .+ late lottery selection, FRP futures all on the table...
Is there a scenario where AD is available? Would you be able to catch it?...
Ingram for Lavine+Pick?..
Would DMurray improve this team?..
MPJ?Miles Bridges? an ST for Claxton?...something for JAllen?...

With their 2027 pick to start dealing I don't see how they become buyers. Yes almost certain to be sellers. But it's hard to even just get in on exchanging players and hope to come out ahead.
Not trading White or Dosunmu, both just resigned and for nearly nothing compared to what they bring already. What team takes DeRozan in a S&T because he improves their starting 5, and has 6th and 7th men to come to the Bulls as an upgrade over the leading scorer that is out the door? Nobody talks about what Lavine can do, only how awful he and his contract are. If all the know-it-alls are close to right, not getting a starter back for him. Caruso has to go to a championship contender, what can they give up and still be in that category?
Guys that may be risky or not well thought of on here but could be added to White, Dosunmu, Williams, Craig, Carter, Phillips, Bitim, maybe Terry and Taylor. I think the Bulls have role players, you can't get caught up in thinking role players from BOS, LAL, MIL, GSW, PHIL and the other top teams could come to your team and be even better as starters given a chance. They fill a role on those great teams and that's who they are.
Scouting and pro player evaluation is where the Bulls would have to put their fate. Miles Bridges, John Collins, Jarrett Allen, Ivey, Suggs,
Huge crazy trades that won't happen, KAT fro MINN, they give up on to twin towers and want someone next to Edwards who can draw defenses. Durant or Booker when PHO flops,

I don't see the Bulls as bad...I agree that people have forgotten that, although overpaid, Lavine is a player who makes a difference...the injuries have hit them brutally...they are certainly not at the level of the Celtics (none in the division it is) but I am convinced that with an improvement in the front court and health they can compete with any team

I posted it in the fake KD thread..
But I think (Ball), Coby, Ayo, and 3ish firsts is actually a KD offer if we pretend KD is good playing with Demar/Zach and pretend Chicago will pay the tax up until the apron to build a roster.
if they trade LaVine, in order to keep a roster around Vuc/KD/Demar/Coby… I think it costs all five picks they can trade (2024, 27/29/31, Portland first).. and they need to find the third team for LaVine.
So just better to use Coby IMO.

Lonzo Ball, Jevon Carter, and the POR 1st (lottery protected through 2028) to Portland for Jerami Grant
White/Ayo
LaVine/Caruso/Bitim
DeRozan/Williams/Terry
Grant/Craig/Phillips
Vucevic/Drummond
Bulls run it back with an upgrade 4 in Grant.
Portland gets an expiring deal that will be mostly covered by insurance as I don't currently believe Lonzo will play. A cheap depth guard in Carter. And control of their own first back, which open them up to being able to use a 1st in trades.
