It seems a good chunk of players on the market are scoring guards (LaVine, Herro, Simons, Huerter, Bogdan, etc.).

There's enough in free agency that teams like Orlando should be ok just signing one... so my question is...

Which non-cap space teams need a scoring SG?

Buddy Hield is another one, as are Gary Trent Jr and Malik Monk.

Not a bad list... think Toronto needs forwards more than guards

Poole was indeed horrible as a SG, has been the player we expected (still not my type of player) as a PG, but with Kispert and rookie Bilal Coulibaly developing, Wiz don't need a 2 particularly. Team needs bigs.

Poole was indeed horrible as a SG, has been the player we expected (still not my type of player) as a PG, but with Kispert and rookie Bilal Coulibaly developing, Wiz don't need a 2 particularly. Team needs bigs.

I was actually quite impressed by the grit and grind of the Wizards last night in Minnesota.

I think they need someone who can actually put pressure on a defense outside of Deni. Minnesota was treating Deni like he was Durant but nobody else applies any rim pressure, which is why I thought an actual scoring SG could make sense, especially if they keep Tyus.

I don't think the Wizards will keep Tyus. The fact is, Tyus has the worst on/off differential on the team. Poole's horrific season turned around the moment Tyus got hurt and Poole got to run point. Over the last 15 games without Tyus, Poole is averaging 22 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds on a TS% of .562 (which ain't great, but nowhere near as bad as it was).

The Wizards also just signed Jared Butler to a 3-year deal.

ORL has all of the need and all of the chips to get in on this.

But the FO has been sitting on their hands for a while now.

I'd give up a LOT for Mikal Bridges or Dejounte Murray. I'd give up an appropriate amount for Simons, Herro, or even Brogdon. I'd pay enough to steal Monk or DLo.

Would Herro or Simons be fits in Sacramento if Monk left?

I tried running a few ideas involving these SG's to those teams and they weren't well met. I wonder which other teams also make sense?

Brooklyn (2005 expiring)
Charlotte
Houston (2005 expiring)

Those are the only 3 teams I can think of and Charlotte is a stretch. I don't think anyone wants to give up for LaVine, Herro, Simons, Clarkson, etc. what their current teams would want.

I don't believe this to be true. Or not no teams want him. Maybe very few posters here want him. But he'd have a clear role as a classic 6th man. He's built for exactly that role and I think the right organization could convince him there is no shame in a role held by a lot of great players.

Cole is who he is at this point and I don’t think he has good enough IQ to play a role. He’s an Inefficient chucker who gets hunted on defense. He might have a few 6th man type games but far and few in between.
