Pels give: BI, 2024 first, filler contracts
get: Karl Anthony Towns
ATL gives: Dejounte Murray
gets: BI
BK gives: Cam Johnson
gets: 2024 first, Ej LIddell, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl
Reasons: Pels get a better fit at the 5 and slot Trey Murphy at the 2. Allows them to still play big on the perimeter nd maintain their depth. Atlanta gets a big wing/ second option to pair with Trae in what would hoepfully be a better fit than the current roster. BK gets some draft capital and major cash savings to use for rebuilding this summer and Minnesota gets long term starters at the 1 and the 4 that can pair well with the current team.

I'm assuming Minnesota is getting... Murray, Cam Johnson and nothing else?
That saves Minnesota no money and makes them notably worse.

Towns is worth more than what Pels are giving. Much more considering in conference and overpay tax required for Wolves to trade Towns to in conference foe.

Seems like a deal where Minny gets cut. Is Brooklyn looking to shed money or are they just filler here? I'd be interested in adding BI or Cam depending on what's the logic to moving either one.

Minnesota happily accepts your offer to take their ball and go home.

Re: NO/ATL/BK/SOTA
If minny decides to trade KAT its because they think he is not worth 50 mils and i would agree with them, which makes his value around 0 or negative. However if Pels give Ingram max that would also make him a zero value guy or negative.
I would rather keep our guy, because at least defense will be decent, with Towns and Zion frontcourt, wuuh, that would be baaaad.

I would disagree with your initial premise -- if the Wolves decide to move on from KAT its most likely because of tax reasons (they don't would not want to be a 2nd apron team) and they can get the most value in return from dealing him vs dealing other players/contracts to get below the line.

The contract situation of BI is what stops Atlanta from agreeing to it.

Re: NO/ATL/BK/SOTA
Are the players BK would be getting in the deal super promising young guns? Were any of them drafted in the lottery?

They are both 23, so young -- sure. Super promising? Not so much. But they both would have been lottery picks of the 2nd round (if there was one)!
