Based on the failings of Suns in playoffs and if Heat get eliminated tonight, what are chances Beal waived his NTC to join Heat?
To Miami
-Bradley Beal (3 years, $161 million)
To Phoenix
-Terry Rozier (2 years, $51.6 million)
-Duncan Robinson (2 years, $39.2 million - 2nd year $9.9 million guaranteed)
Herro/#15/Mills
Beal/Martin/Richardson
Butler/Jacquez/Highsmith
Jovic/Love/#43
Adebayo/Bryant/Robinson
Rozier/FA/#57
Booker/Allen/Lee
Robinson/Little/Okogie
Durant/O’Neal/Roddy
Nurkic/#23/FA

He would not only waive the NTC to go and play in Miami, he would gladly wave goodbye to what was always going to be a disaster of a situation.

sure but Beal isn't $27M/year better than Rozier so that isn't happening.

Yes, but I don't see anyway the Heat Front Office will let the Suns off the hook of paying draft compensation to move Beal's atrocious contract.

You’d have to pay the Heat to do this. Rozier’s contract is bad, Robinson’s is ok, and Beal’s is atrocious. It also lasts longer. This is a late lottery pick short, and Phoenix doesn’t have that to trade.

Is this trade even legal? Both Rozier and Robinson make 44.3 mils in 2024-2025, and Beal makes 50.2 plus 15% trade kicker, which would make around 58 mils.

Yeah would only work if he waives NTC and Trade Kicker

The Heat are over the second apron and would need to dump a lot of salary to do this.

Yeah the Heat are over the 2nd apron and can’t aggregate or bring back more salary so the trade isn’t legal.

This deal would likely put Miami into the second apron, meaning they cannot aggregate Rozier and Robinson to acquire Beal, and they can only salary match at 100%. And if Martin and others opt out, his deal would hard cap Miami at the second apron.

What compensation? The Suns have none to give.

Miami didn't go all in on getting Beal this off-season because they didn't believe the cost outweighed what Herro could do, and they were right. Now, for some reason, after the miserable failure that was Phoenix, they're going to correct that for them? I don't see why Miami would want him, now.
And that's not even getting into what you have Miami giving up. They finally get Robinson back on track, and get their point guard but for some reason they turn around and trade him for a guy just like Herro (including injuries) but who costs twice as much and is significantly older? What do they gain out of this? He's not a star anymore, he's just a name, and he's making far too much cash for that.
Easy pass for Miami
